When I was Christian, that was the first thing to really bother me. I instinctively felt that there must be some sort of reincarnation (and the 'born again' concept was not it). There's a verse in Revelations that says something about 'on Judgment Day, God will take the book of the living and the dead and judge them accordingly'. Which I thought at the time supported the Catholic idea of purgatory. There are a couple of Gnostics here and I would bet they know more of Gnosticism than I do but the Gnostics definitely believed in reincarnation. There's the 'Book of Mary Magdalene' which tells about an NDE and I think it supports the idea of reincarnation. I've heard a lot about the 'Book of Thomas' and I even read once that there are those who think Jesus was the reincarnation of Adam since he (Jesus) was so knowledgeable (based on the theory that Jesus was not God but 'like' or 'similar to' God)

Many people read the bible and misinterpret things.
They give there own interpretations which are only based from their own experiences and knowledge.
It is just like a man who is not a doctor reading a medical book and performing medication. Which in the process he misinterpret things in the book and perform wrongly.
We believe what is taught in the Church and not on the things that we aught to believe because we think it is in the bible because it is how we understand the bible.
The Church has the only authority over the bible. The Church has her unchanging tradition in order to understand the bible.
When we are in doubt we must not seek in the bible for answers but go to the Church who has the best understanding.
Being born again does not mean reincarnation.
What is taught in the Church is that being born again is dying from sins and born again through baptism.
It is being baptized from water and the Holy Spirit.
reincarnation is not taught in the Church. What is taught in the Church is that when we die in the grace of God we go to his Kingdom in Heaven. We must humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness and continue to do good works.

No. It does not say we're not allowed to. Even though it is a deception. Just because the bible does not say something, does not mean it's alright. For example, the bible does not say that we can't fly like birds...but, I know of no one who can do it.
The bible does not say, we're not allowed to believe there's a Santa Claus, but it doesn't mean there is one.
Satan would have us to believe in a reincarnation, because
we would not have to answer to God, or stand before Him one day. Because we'd keep being born someone else.
I'm sorry, but reincarnation is a lie. WE either go to heaven or hell when we die. Depending on whether or not we accepted Jesus as Savior, or not.

Jesus told his diciples that he was Elijah come to earth again. He also talked of the need to be 'born again. He said that no man here shall see heaven until they are born again. When asked by the diciples how a man can go back to his mother's womb and be reborn, Jesus said, there are two births, that of the spirit and that of the water (physical). It is like the wind, no man knows whence it came or where it (the spirit) will go.
Reincarnation was commonly understood in the time of Jesus. Read the scriptures they don't want you to read in the book of Lost Scriptures. These are recently translated document surving since 100 ad and are the closest direct link to that era history provides.

Those guys who quote Hebrews are flawed, since anyone can quote the bible and prove their doctrine in it. It's really a worthless endeavor if you don't have spiritual understanding. I can quote many things over that could reincarnation, but that is worthless imo, because for me, scripture is as it should be intended, esoteric allegories.
Anyways, reincarnation is deep in Judaism and in primitive Christianity it was a well supported doctrine and throughout the bible. In Judaism reincarnation is not denied, but is valid and fits well. But it wasn't called reincarnation, but transmigration of souls, because the very knowledge of it does not depend on a Hindu name. The spiritual Christian's, mystic Christians of course all held transmigration of souls. If you look at the Thomas Gospel which has many sayings in a more original formate and many sayings that have been taken out, you will see reincarnation in many themes. Btw I prefer the Nazirene Gospel, its so much better than the bible we have with respect to the New Testament.
P.S. - Bocas is right about Emperor Justinian and his wife Theodore. He really did put a banned on the concept of the pre-existent soul and on transmigration of souls. But at that time the emperor controlled what people could believe in. Hence why the bible is so corrupted.

God and Jesus Christ, both fully here with us in Spirit
tells us that there is absolutely no reincarnation for any human !
All humans will ascend into God's and Jesus' One Combined loving judgment ! John 12:32 is fully true !
"Be you perfect, even as I AM perfect." fully prevents any human from going backward to another physical "fetus" unaware birth state again ! Once is enough !
Elijah and John the Baptist are TWO different persons ! There is a confusion in the Bible by the three apostles who falsely thought that error. Wrong ! Ask Jesus for the full Truth and follow no underlings of finite humans, even though they were (and are in heaven) well-meaning.
Belief in reincarnation is a slap in the face, so to speak, of the infinite Spirit Gravity Drawing Power of our One Holy Father-Son-Spirit of Truth -- Jesus Christ here with us ! Amen !

No, but if you believe that, then you believe the bible is lying, about once you die, you are judged, and sent to heaven or hell. But reincarnation says that we come back as a animal etc. So, if you believe this, then your saying God is a lyre, which he can't be otherwise he doesn't exist

Reincarnation was part of the christian theology until 525 CE when the Empress of the Emperor Justinian, who was going to re'compile and re'write the bible, told her husband that he had to eliminate anyting having to do with re-incarnation because she was one of his concubines that made it to the top and she had all of the other concubines slowly boiled in oil to eliminate the competition and she didn´t want to come back as a toad. So if he took it out of the bible then it would never happen.

No, nothing at all.
EDIT:
Here's a link about a Pope that was arrested for believing in reincarnation.
http://reluctant-messenger.com/reincarnation-pope.htm
Early Christians universally believed in reincarnation, many believe a political lie thinking it's from God, when it's from the same people that fed saints to lions.
Only man could create something as nasty as Hell, and only God could forgive man for creating such a place.

In Hebrews it says, "It is appointed once for men to die, and after that the judgment. "
Psalms tell us that redemption after death is impossible.
Since the purpose of reincarnation is to "get a second chance" for a better life, it is an unbiblical concept, and therefore falls unto the heading of "idolatrous practices."
