some guys think that it makes a girl trashy, but I think that what they don't see is that it doesn't, we can just be as girl and soft with them.....

That was rude of that gentleman to say that to you. I have 5 tattoos (including one on my forearm) and I am glad to say that I have not have that response. I actually have people stop me to tell me how beautiful my tattoos are. I don't think there's anything wrong with you being defensive, I would be too! But then I would remember my husband loves me and my tattoos and I wouldn't give the guy a 2nd thought.

Totally not, I have a tattoo on my shoulder blade and I love it, actually it makes me feel more feminine and sexy!! That guy was probally just an a$$ and wants all women to be like the ones in 50's. I love tatts because they let us define who we are and what we have experienced in our lives!!

If you're going to have tattoos you've got to be thick skinned because for every person that may have the guts and come up to you and say something negative (haven't had that happen yet thankfully) there are 10 more standing there staring thinking the same thing, just not saying it out loud.
I tune them out and go about my business. It's even more fun to catch them staring, make eye contact with them and then smile. They never quite know what to do with that.....

Yes, I think it was a little rude of him to say that. Don’t worry about it though, it doesn’t matter what he said, not all guys think that and tattoos can be for anyone, whether boy or girl, feminine or not. There are tattoos you can get that are more girly-ish or more for a guy. :]
I’m a girl and I’m thinking of getting one of a dragonfly. for certain reasons of course. And cause I love them! :P
P.S. Stars are feminine and pretty!!!

He's probably just old or raised the way to think women should not mark their bodies. I dunno If I'm the only one who noticed, but there's more girls answering and asking questions in this section, which shows women have just as much tats as guys. So don't be offended, he only said it because he saw a tattoo on you. He would think differently of you if he never saw it. He' be amazed to see how many girls actually have tattoo's.
But rememeber, you got the tattooes for yourself, no one else. So don't let it get to you someone doesn't like it. As long as you like them, then don't worry. âº

don't pay attention to those judgmental people who always stereotype others. I have three tattoos and want many more. girls have the same right as a men to go out there and get tattoos. if you like them that is all that matters don't listen to their bull ****.

Wow, someone who is tattooed but whines about what someone else thinks of them.......you do realize that tattoos are for people that don't give a crap?
It could have been much worse. He could have said you were boring for having stars and a copycat for having that ear zodiac sign celebrity thing. Be glad he only said "not feminine", which is so silly as to be ridiculous....and thus shouldn't hurt your feelings at all.
ADD
If you're worried about what someone else thinks about tattoos, either cover up or don't get 'em in the first place. What is this? It used to be if you were tattooed, and someone came up to you, you knocked them out......that's if they even had the balls to say anything to you. Now people have to come on Y!A and get reassured by everyone "No, don't worry honey, people are just stupid...they're just ignorant (you sound like Michael Jackson....it's the man trying to keep you down....you go, girl."
WAKE UP TO REALITY. If guys went around wearing make up and dresses (something customarily associated with women for a long long time), of course people are gonna think it looks "feminine." Let me go whine on Yahoo that someone told me I not very masculine wearing pumps.
In case you're clueless and unable to reason: this doesn't mean women can't or shouldn't have tattoos. It's just reality. Be thankful that tattoos on women are SO excepted, whereas transvestites like me are still having a much harder time wearing our panties.

Having tattoos myself, I don't think there is anything unfeminine about them! But, my tattoo artist boyfriend (who is kinda heavily tattooed but not covered completely) says most women get them to appear sexier and he doesn't think they add sexiness or femininity. A woman already has that or she doesn't. Tattoos don't add or detract from beauty. Do what makes you happy! :)

No, you have every right to defend your PERSONAL body art!
What you display on your body, whether it be body art, clothing, hair style, hair color, body piercings and anything else that I may have left out is YOUR business.
I am tired of hearing that tattoos are manly or that females should only have a limited number of tattoos or have them only in specific locations. What kind of crap is that!
