i have one infected spot which ive been told is acne. im on erythromycin and have cicatrin cream. the spot looks like a donut, raised and red which a dip in the middle. it fills with ooze but doesnt scab over. been using cream for about five days. when will it go? it really make me feel dirty and ugly. its only one but its on my breast.

tabs are for six weeks. been on them for five days also. the spot has got smaller a little and not so raised but still has a crater.. lol

its not soft, its quite hard and looks like ive placed a mini apple corer into my skin. it only oozes after cream is applied.

If you haven't noticed any improvement after 5 days of antibiotics, go back to your doctor. I am assuming you are not picking at it. I had an infected bite on my hand that was 50% better 12 hours after I started Augmentin. Even though you have to take the meds for 10 days, you should have seen some improvement by now. Call your doc. It may have been misdiagnosed and needs a different treatment.

It's not acne thats for sure. You dont get a single spot classed as acne. It's far more likely to be a cyst or boil. keep it clean, don't squeeze it, and keep on the pills. If you dont have any improvement see the doc again.
I would say get some air on it...but that might be difficult unless you have some very liberal workmates

As there has been no improvement in 5 days i would go back to the doctor. maybe the cream is not effective and the doctor may wish to try something else.

if you have been using the stuf for 5 days there should be an improvement? have you noticed it getting better? how long is your antibiotic course for ie how many tabs have u left? x
