money for bills that can't be paid and will be cut off.

You can do either anonomously or in person.

Prayer--you can intercede with prayer for people.

There was a time when I was working and homeless. I needed a hand-up, not a hand-out. I got more job leads from online strangers than friends and family. I will always be greatful to those faceless, nameless generous souls.

Being good to people, encouraging those who are depressed, giving a significant gift (does not have to be pricy) like a book, helping the elderly mow the grass, etc . . .
