Karma is, to put it simply, do good things and good things will happen to you, do bad things and bad things will happen to you.
This includes every moment of our life and the outcome of our afterlife.

According to Hindu belief Karma literally means "action" it does not mean "what goes around, comes around" it is NOT cause & effect, it is a reward or punishment in your next life >>>as in how you will be reincarnated... If you fulfill your dharma which means "natural law" or way of higher truths... then you will be elevated in caste...if you don't fulfill your dharma, then maybe you will stay the same caste... maybe even be demoted in caste...when karma is taken out of the hindu/ buddhist religeo-societal paradigm and given a "new age spin" almost all of it's meaning is lost... and western misconception runs rampant...

Karma is whatever you do in this life only, good or bad. Good if you act as per laws of the nature, cotinuously changing with time, Bad -if you do not follow, what the nature want us to do. There is no after life as far as I know. If at all it exists, it has to be under the same laws of nature(you can call The God).

karma is what comes back to you. in case you have executed somebody an injustice or are a egocentric guy or woman etc... you will get backlash of adverse karma. once you're a sturdy guy or woman, giving of your self to every person who desires your interest,,,then sturdy karma will come at you. yet remember previous existence karma can hang-out you for an prolonged time in case you have been a crappy guy or woman in that existence.

Karma is essentially a belief that what you do will reflect what happens to you. Except it was taken from the bible "What you sow is what you will reap" (what you put in is what you get out)
