ant, and suddenly found yourself beneath a stone on one of your busiest days of work for the queen, and all the other ants saw you there, struggling to get out from under that weight, some would try to move that heavy stone because they can and often do move and carry objects much larger than their body weight. but all you can see are the stream of ants passing by you because they made an assesment of your situation and came to the only logical conclusion. To leave you there untill the life in your small body has been exhausted from the struggle to free yourself. Do you think the other ants will tell the queen and she will come to rescue you with her much larger body of strength? The queen ant, in all her glory can not lift one ounce of that stone from her faithful servant ant. But the compassionate heart of another , The King of all the kingdoms has come to you . Do you know how the king knew you were struggling to be free? and how he knew exactly where you were?

The ant underneath the stone deserves to die for getting himself stuck in such a perdicament ...and he will die, for he is underneath a stone ...no matter how much "ant-power" they have, ants can't move stones (now a pebble is a different story) And i believe most ants know it's inevitable to even try to move a stone, so out of intelligence and logic they would leave there fellow ant there to die.

For if ants we're really humane they would strike down the foolish ant right then and there so he or she would suffer no more.

...i'm wondering how people got a religious vibe out of this question ...just because it resembles a parable, doesn't mean it's religious ...well people are sheep, least i remember that from the Bible. =)

In real ant-life workers are sacrificed by thousands to keep the population as healthy as possible. They hardly rescue each other, only the queen is really important.
Since I don't know.... whether this king exists I can't give you an answer to this hypothetical question.

What would you do if your brain actually started working one day?

I know it is more far-fetched than your story, but I was just wondering.
