yep. They can dry out and become hard as a rock, and they can also become moldy if not stored properly.

I've had raisins around for what seems forever. They do dry up and get hard but then I just pop them in the microwave for a few to soften them back up and use them in cooking.

Hi,
Tell Fo, that it needs to be after months!!! before this happens....they will be kind of hard to chew and not very good to eat them. Tell Fo to buy them fresh and eat them soon!! or they will become like chocolate chips!!! hahahaha!!
Raisings are soooooooooooooo good!

If they have been stored in the cabinet, yes.. they risk the chance of bugs getting into them.
If stored in the fridge they do dry out, but by adding water they can plump back up.
