are you using the latex kilz2??? that will not work. you need to use original kilz oil based primer. you should be able to use the upshot spray kilz primer. it sprays up instead of out, so you can spray the ceiling easier. if that doesn't do it, just replace the tile.

The tiles can be painted. Home Depot sells the spray paint made especially for ceiling tiles. It will spray upward. But.....you are just covering over the problem. If the stains are from moisture, mold will still grow under the paint. The tiles are fairly inexpensive,,,,I'd replace them. You can get a case of 20 or more tiles for about $25-$30 at Home Depot.

in my experience kilz has always worked the best, but they do make several versions, make sure you use the one with the highest stain blocking, that says for water stains, with ceiling tiles it can be difficult because they absorb so much paint. good luck.

Yes; shellac it covers all sorts of stains; it is clear Get it at Wal Mart; Home Depot; Lowes; .
,. after it dries you can paint right over it with the ceiling paint (if you need to that is)
I cannot believe Kilz did not work; I used it a lot..

Kilz will cover and it will not bleed back out. Use as primer or if it is white the Kilz will be all you need.
