i think they made a great Novel series out of it, that was good reading but i do not believe in it.
Sure i am positive some fanatics believe it but that is darn egotistical to think your group is the only one that will be saved and all others will perish. Sorry i just do not fall for that BS.
This is not a question of if there is or is not a god, but whether yo u believe he picks favorites or if god loves all equally? that is what i would be wondering if I was a believer. I am not so i do not ask it, but if I were then i would ask it.
It is always good to question, but sometimes you may not find an answer to it with this subject. It will at last come down to your own belief and faith no one else's but your own.

The word "rapture" does not occur in the Bible. The concept of the Rapture, though, is clearly taught in Scripture. The Rapture of the church is the event in which God removes all believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the Tribulation period.
The Rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 describes the Rapture as God resurrecting all believers who have died, giving them glorified bodies, and then departing the earth with those believers who were still alive, who have also been given glorified bodies. "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
1 Corinthians 15:50-54 focuses on the instantaneous nature of the Rapture and on the glorified bodies we will receive. "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). The Rapture is the glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God's presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the Rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, in regards to the Rapture, God wants us to “encourage each other with these words.”

I believe there will be a pre-Tribulational Rapture of the Church by Jesus Christ. After this Rapture, we will be changed into immortal beings; the dead bodies of those who are believers will be raised and changed into immortal bodies, also.
Don't believe the b.s. people say now adays: that the Rapture wasn't taught before the 1800's; this is only repeated by people who haven't done any research. I'm glad to see you're looking into it instead of automatically believing what you hear. We actually have ancient documents written by the early Church that mentions the Rapture (although it is not called this).
If I may, I'd like to give you the web address of the best, most scholarly web site I've found on this subject: http://www.pre-trib.org/

The Rapture is a false doctrine that was adopted into Christianity after a 14 yr old girl had a dream in 1830. Before this the doctrine was not taught.
The Doctrine of the Rapture is a doctrine for cowards.

For the longest time I knew there was the 1st resurrection & that last resurrection. The 1st is before the 1000 yr reign of Christ. The Last is the Great White Throne Judgment of Christ. After the 1000 yr Reign of Christ.
I prayed to God I wanted to be part of the 1st resurrection. God gave me assurance in this. Then also the rapture is a part of the 1st resurrection. The 1st resurrection started when Jesus raised from the dead. And will be complete when us who believe in Him are raised up like Him. The rapture is a part of the first resurrection & occurres before the Antichrist can rule (2 Thes). So when the Church with oil full in Her lamp is raptured, then this lets the abomination of desolation to rule for a season. Soo much that those who turn to Christ lose their life for not bowing to the beast or taking its mark (666). So, they are tribulation martyrs & will be part of the 1st resurrection also. (Rev.20) Those left on earth are those who take the mark & the antichrist, beast & false prophet. Those who destroy Gods creation & people. So the wrath of God is poured out on the earth. Then Jesus comes back with all His Saints. And he throws the beast & false prophet into the lake of fire (2nd death) and the devil & his in the abyss for the 1000 yr reign of Christ. Then this ushers in the 1000 yr Reign of Christ. Where life is pretty good for 1000 yrs.
It is written that when Jesus comes back, every eye will see Him & groan. He Is coming back from heaven. The rapture is earlier when the Church is resurrected & goes to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. I think this is going to be a 7 yr Supper.
Jesus said that when the Gospel of the Kingdom is preached in all nations, then the end shall come. So? This is near to be accomplished, since knowledge has increased sooo much with communications, etc.
Also to those who say the word 'rapture' isn't in the bible. It is. And in one version (Latin?) the word rapture is used instead of how it is translated as 'caught up' in our more current translations. The 'caught up' is = 'rapture'. Christians know this, because God revealse this to His Children.

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noha entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."
(Matthew 24:36-42)
Alot of christians dont believe because they dont believe the bible..
I think that says it all.. amen. Rembember, Jesus said no man will know the hour, not even the apostles.

I believe that a number of people have persuaded themselves that the "end of the world" is approaching, and that it will be a painful and frightening experience, and further that they have subscribed to the notion of the "rapture" because it supplies an escape hatch.
This gives those who have subscribed to the "rapture" a way to contemplate the end of the world, and all the attendant horror, as something that will happen to someone else.

Developed over a thousand years after the death of Jesus by some Biblical Scholars in Germany. The Rapture is never once mentioned in the Bible, but certain verses in revelation and Daniel were taken to mean that long after they were written. Conjecture.

Jesus will not come until the end of the 7 yrs. The rapture will be just people disappearing. There are people who claim it is not in the bible but they must not read the bible because it is all over the place. Even Jesus speaks of it.
