A cup is about 150 milliliters or 150 gr of water.
A cup of salt is fewer grams than a cup of iron. You can`t tell how many grams exactly a cup is without knowing what to measure. Just take a cup, fill it with whatever the recipe tells You to use and it should work out or use about 150 milliliters of whatever You need

It really depends on what you are measuring and if you are measuring mass or weight. Check out the site below. You enter the food and it will convert the measurements for you.

I bought a glass measuring cup (pyrex) and it has both measurements on both sides. ( I already see you have the conversions) but get one that has both.
