You should never beleive everything uttered by any mortal man. We're all sinners. But yeah, I think most churches are set in their ways. Nothing you can do about that. Make your own church.

Think about it this way, we believe that the Bible is God's word, and God is infallible. People however, can and do err. Our churches consist of people, we go there to worship and to learn from one another.

I do not believe everything I am told, nor does anyone believe everything I say. So, we do indeed question one another in a respectable manner.

No, I have never been treated as an outcast or asked to leave. If someone were made to feel like an outcast, I would think they either created a scene or are in the wrong congregation of believers.

The great thing about the church of Christ is that there is no central authority that decides doctrine. Each congregation is autonomous and each member is allowed to grow at their own pace. In matters of salvation, I could confidently say that everyone agrees. On matters of opinion, members disagree all the time. It is a good feeling to know I can disagree with my Christian friends and not feel outcast. What if someone disagrees on a matter of salvation? Well, since their salvation is on the line, the elders and/or minister would study the Bible with them to find the answers to any questions.

No I don't believe everything I learned in church. No. I wouldn't be an outcast in church for expressing my opinions. I might be an outcast at home though.

Heh.

People always think that their church is open and loving, but haven't really tested it.

I suggest finding a questionable doctrine, and trying to teach against it, or try to prove that another doctrine also has merit in a bible study. Then see how tolerant and loving the church remains.

1) Yes. I do.

2) Of course not. I am not required, nor do I require that the members of my parish, "check their brains" at the front door when they come to church.

Having a good debate about theology is what Anglicanism is all about!!

I pretty much do, but wouldn't hesitate to look up anything for myself that I disagreed with. In Sunday school we are encouraged to ask questions.
