First, it was not a free trip. It was organized by one group and they all were invited, but it doesn't say it was free. Most trips of this kind aren't... the church leaders had to go to their congregations, get approval to spend the money, and then arrange the cheapest fares, etc. Trust me.... I've been on them as a lay person!

And it wasn't all about prayer, it was about alliance and trying to figure out ways to get the word out and get support. God gave us this wonderful planet, shouldn't we be taking care of it??
Unfortunately, you also have many religious people who believe that if God gave us this planet and all of this technology, then He is allowing this to happen, so we just need to let it happen.

So, to answer your question, no it wasn't the free trip, no it wasn't the rapture, and they were praying for their churches and for everyone to start working on ways to save our world!

Being an atheist, you probably won't understand the significance of prayer, and what benifit and miracles praying to God sincerely can do to us.

But it doesn't give you the right to undermine or judge their
thoughtful initiatives.

I should say that I found the initiative very bold and surprising, since preachers and devout members of different religions usually share hostile and fragile relationship. It really shows they are doing something with their heart in it, because they know they will fall under criticism or sceptism from people such as yourself.

Please try not to undermine others' effort so thoughtlessly again. You will never realise how much damage your words might bring, and you just might regret it later. I mean no offence.

Well you offered no proof that they were pretending to care and you assumed we all agree with you, so you are off to a bad start with this question.

You have no way of knowing their motives. I tend to believe that they are truly concerned. People of faith are suppose to love God's creations and be stewards of the Earth, manage and take care of it, and that doesn't depend on belief or disbelief in Global Warming.

I think that this is a good thing, the more that people are aware that the environment is a global concern the better.

It would be nice if these leaders would develop a sense of tolerance for each other and start to spread that.

Yes and I hope this Global cooling stops soon, too.

And next you are going to say you care about Polar Bears, ain't ya? Or baby seals.

We all care, or at least say that we do, that part is quite easy.

Enter common sense into the argument. More people, more problems, less people, less problems. So, shouldn't over-population be the issue? Never mind, to easy for most people to understand.

Also your question assumes that you care and they don't. How did you arrive at that conclusion?

Were you there? Did it effect your life? Did it take all your food, Money and Shelter? No...Then don't worry about it..

anger management..LOL YOU ARE THE ONE SAYING PEOPLE YOU DO NOT KNOW..WHO GO SOMEWHERE TO PRAY..ARE PRETENDING...YOUR JUST A LITTLE *****..WHO WANTS TO HAVE AN OPINION ON EVERYTHING...

THIS IS A R/S SECTION..YOU HAVE A R/S QUESTION..A REAL QUESTION..NOT SOME STUPID RANT...THEN ASK IT..OTHERWISE..SURF YOUR MYSPACE....

wow such ignorance!

not because your average evangelical conservative republican Limbaugh and Hannity listener doesn't give a crap about global warming and thinks it's a hoax makes ALL religious people like them. many people don't need rush limbaugh to tell them what to think you know.

only the sheep think global warming is a hoax.
