If God is all mighty, why didn't he just destroy all the old testaments that cause confusion among religious studies? Since many of the things recorded are no longer believed (such as stoning an adultorer), why didn't he just start over from scratch with a new book? I mean.. if he created life, burning a few hundred books shoudln't have been too hard...

Well, as far as I can generally gather... God seems to want you to make up your own mind. as I heard someone put it, He gave us the earth and this existence. So he cant come in to our home without knocking. (well how he runs things... if he wanted he could) Also technically speaking if god is wisdom and satan is ignorance God dosent want to destroy information... Many would argue otherwise that God promotes ignorance but Its to early for me to get into that.
Now about old versus new. Old testament is the old contract, new testament is the new contract. God decided "ok, man is ready for a new deal." We had grown up enough or reached a certin point where god said "Ok, Adam's sin is punished enough now, its time to renegotiate our deal."

Because God gets a kick out of all the confusion among humans. God laughs out loud at the Pat Robertsons and Tim LaHayes of the world, who try so hard but just can't understand anything God is trying to say.

If you were really read up on your Bible you will find the old Testaments are very important to many people. The Catholics and the Jews are still pretty much under the Mosaic laws and the gentiles under the new Covenant of Jesus.
Take some time to research this and you will find it correct. Old school, the people went to the Priest who went to God in their behalf. When Jesus died, the curtain of the Temple that kept people out of the Most Holy of Hollies, was torn from top to bottom, opening Heaven up to the people.

And if you think there's controversy NOW, you probably couldn't even conceive of the controversy there would be if thousands of books and scriptures had not been destroyed by men, just like you mention, well over a thousand years ago.

Well, since men, not God, wrote every religious book in the world, if God did what you advised, the Bible gets wiped out too.
I don't know, maybe God's getting a laugh out of watching us run around like a bunch of idiots denouncing one another and completely missing the point in the process. Face it, we might just be God's sitcom.

I know right? Slavery, rape, human rituals. The christians want to forget all that because it was the OT. The chrisitan god is the most jealous, hateful and unloving character I have ever read about.
