Did you know that practioners of ancient pagan religions used to eat food and drink water? They did this in order to sustain life!! Clearly Jesus stole this idea whenever he said we had to eat his flesh and drink his blood in order to have eternal life!!
Also, pagans that pre-dated Christianity used to go to bed at night and RISE in the morning. Again, Jesus was crucified and then ROSE from the dead. Coincidence....I think not.
Futhermore, ancient pagans used to have conversations....this is exactly what Christians do during confession...yet another copy.
How can you maintain your Christian faith in the face of all of this glaring plagarism!!!

Judith, you don't really think I'm being serious? I posted this question in response to all of the posts yesterday about Christianity being a copy of pagan religions that pre-dated it. Not all of the claims were not as ridiculous as these, but the logic was exactly the same.

Bobby B:
One of the biggest differences between Paganism and Christianity, is that most of the Christians I grew up around and have met seem to be very judgmental and close-minded to other folk's Spirituality.
How are you to know how "Anointed in the Spirit" a Pagan is? Perhaps the Energy (God) from what you see as being "Full of the Spirit(Holy Ghost)" ALSO manifests itself the same in a Pagan as it does in a Christian.
Perhaps the only difference is how you describe it. Then everything comes down to an ugly battle of words…with none of Christ’s Love
My Journey has been a Spiritually Satisfying one for me, as I hope yours has been for you. If you truly live in Christ's love, and you are filled with The Holy Spirit, wouldn't that make you kind and understanding to others?
Christ's message was one of Peace, Love and Understanding. Healing comes from a place of Devine Love....within. Sounds like you may have experienced it!!
That would mean you(a Christian), and I (a Pagan) are Spiritual Kindred.
Love and Light to you, my Brother.
Self assessment (to be sure one does not become ugly to others from a place of ego) is key, in following Christ as well as in so called “Paganism“.
May you hold the Love of Spirit close to your heart and reflect that Devine Love out into the world around you forever!!((and do not forget about the thief in the night!!))

Those are amazing coincidences, Thom. I've read, too, that many pagans in the ancient world had mothers, and that some pagans were virgins, though usually not for long. Thus, the Christian claim of a virgin mother is just another great pagan insight stolen by the Christians.
Cheers,
Bruce

There are many differences that I will not get into between Paganism and the Christian faith, but one I will mention is that Paganism leaves you empty inside your spirit each and every day. When you come to know Christ he proves himself real by filling your spirit with his Spirit and that power can not be denied. Yet, I can tell you about it, but you can not know what I say until God's very own Spirit fills you. Keep searching and you will see.

You recommend how did the christian cult corrupt Egyptian paganism? each significant factor of the christian innovations administration cult improve into taken from the so-called pagans. The virginal start, the dying, the resurrection, and specific even their cherished bypass have been ALL taken from the pagan cults that predate the christian cult via 1000's, if no longer 1000's, of years.

You may think that you are debunking Christianity with your comments, but in fact you are devaluing Paganism with sarcasm. You may know a lot about the ancient way, but you are not educating anybody who reads this.

At least you are making your sarcasm clear (even if some people need the sharpness of a brick to point it out to them). Otherwise it might look like trolling.
ADD: We definitely need a punctuation mark for sarcasm.
