No,well not as in a split sort of hair way lol.It is always best to cut/trim your toenails straight across to prevent problems and the risk of it becoming ingrown.

I've never heard of a toenail with split ends!
I have heard of them been chipped though.

No, do no longer take it off. it gets contaminated that way. yet once you do ought to trim it, do no longer trim it on the very end of the chop up. shrink it halfway, and if there is something too sharp then report it off. positioned on a bandaid in case you need to.
