in religions and science their are allot of complicated theories and speculation into things which arn't always understood by the people talking about them, so they use complex explanations to explain things, although in science their is a need at a certain point to do this, but in religion their isn't so much of that need.
so if you couldn't explain it so a 6YO could understand it should you be explaining it at all? the same goes for both science and religion teachers and answerers

the point at which explanation needs to be complex is when you get deeper into a subject, and here is an explanation a 6yo should understand.
they look for ways to cure desease, ways to help get rid of pain, find out how the body works, and prolong life.
please reread the question.

This question makes so much sense to me than some others(that's what i think.....) I do agree people in religion and science use complicated theories to justified their means. If they do this, they feel as if they have meaning in the world and all the proofs that they can have in order for someone to think the way they do. That's how the world works in order for someone to justify their means and make someone disbelieve their own beliefs they must make it confusing ......

I disagree.

Existence is simple.

The universe is. That is simple.

I am. That is also simple.

That does not mean that "I" as an individual, "We" as a collective or the universe as a whole is simple to understand either in form or function. There are many mysteries because of our limited ability to observe and understand. You admit this yourself, that there is a need at a certain point to do this (use complex explanations to explain things).

Could medical science be explained so a 6 year old could understand it? I don't think so. Does that mean that we should close all the hospitals and medical schools?

Why then should religion be simple?

ill tackle the big bang for a 6 year old.

"imagine an explosion - everything moves out right? thats generally what happend in the big bang theory. everything started in the middle and expanded out from this initial explosion. proof for this theory lies in that planets, are still moving further and further away from the designated "center of the universe" and that some radiation from the explosion is still detectable"

and FTR: ive labelled it as theory because bloody PC make teacher call it the theory today, yet they dont call the bibles fairy tale a theory, they call it RE.

Agree.
Truth is usually simple and straightforward.

There comes a time when we are no longer children and should be taught the complicated things. I long outgrew the 6 year old mindset.

The children of today seem to know WHO THEY ARE and science as at is now will not contradict this truth.

Wow! That is so true! Sometimes I laugh at how people try to write q's and a's to make them sound super intelligent. Maybe God meant in this, too, "Become as little children".

Maybe the answer, at least for now, is to accept it. I suppose we'll know better when the time comes. Things are revealed to us when the time is right so maybe we should just stop looking for an answer to some questions. I don't know...

As for Christianity, it is as simple, or as complex, as you want it to be.
A simple child's faith in Christ is beautiful and pure. On the other hand, the study of God (Theology) can be very fulfilling and interesting.

Not all of us are so eloquent as to be able to explain profound truths so simply and elegantly. Are you offering lessons, or something?
