I had tonsilitis last week, it got better. they're still a bit swollen, but not very sore. this morning i woke up because something was on the back of my tongue, & it was that dangly thing! It's all sore, and swollen, and bigger than normal. it kinda gets in the way of talking, and it sometimes hits my gag-reflex.
what is that thing?
what's going on with it?!?!?
HELP!
thank you!!!

It's called a uvula. The swelling could be from the tonsilitis but if it doesn't get better, go to the doctor. It can obstruct your airway--some people have to have it removed due to snoring/sleep apnea.

okay i will tell you a funny little story about this little dangly thing...for some reason...when i was young...(around 11) i got it and the clitoris mixed up...yeah i don't know how...came downstairs and told my mom my clitoris was swollen and i wanted her to look at it...needless to say it has been the butt of many jokes since....
i figured the other two helped to answer your question pretty well...so i didn't repeat the info

that is called the uvula, and it is likely infected with whatever was infecting your tonsils before, time to go back to the doctor.
