I have visited over 80 countries, large and small in my lifetime. I know of a lot of the peoples you are referring to and I agree, they have their own beliefs. But. But, the major religions on this planet have caused more wars, death, heartache and general screwing up than any other causes. Therefore in my opinion, if we didn't have major religions, just little ones and we had scientists, we would have less problems today than we do now.

Yes, a world without medicine. A world without technology. A world where people still think that there are waters in some huge vat in the sky. Shall I go on? Ok, I will. Science has never cornered the market on weapons. Human violence drives that development. By far, superstition and differences over unsubstantiated opinions is more damaging. Weapons may kill or damage in the short term, but religion has enslaved the human race for far longer. Is maybe a world without humans better for the rest of the living things? At the rate we're going, the cockroach will inherit the earth. Talk about meek, eh?

"Darn, it was cold last night" How can I keep warm? I didn't notice any "Docker Jeans laying on the ground anywhere". So that means that you would be in your birthday suit, from the day you're born until the day you pass on.(and get fed upon by the others).or just rot because the others do not realize that you are a food source.
W/O science women would bear children when they were 15 for the parent would be dead by the age of 30...due to sickness-viruses and bacteria still exist.
Did you ever go camping? And didn't have matches for a fire(matches are a development of science so you could have fire whenever you needed it). How to build a successful longlasting campfire is science too.
It got cold that night. Oh, forget about the sleeping bag, you lay on the dirt in birthday suit because you could not figure that putting something over yourself would retain body heat(science).
No need to go farther if you get the drift....nothing is naturally known which means you would happily drink water from a slough as from a clean river. And so on.
Religion has nothing to do with any of this. Religion was seen as a method of unifying and controlling the masses thru a higher power(Gods) which was "on their side" to win wars against other tribes, or "it wasn't" if the mass did not follow strict guidelines. And the Gods were awe inspiring, putting light in the darkness so men could see, making the earth warm, the crops grow, . The rivers run, the winds blow..
These things a man could not do.
And some used their heads(possibly because their body was failing them and they could not hunt for their food, so would starve. With a God and they being the "go-between" they could keep on living for the believers of the God would have to bring presents (what kind of presents?? food for starters(for that which is hard got is highly prized) to appease the Gods(this way the crippled dude could eat too, because the Gods wanted him to check it out to see if it was "worthy". And so it begins....
And a dog does not know why it eats grass other than that his system finds the excess fibre is disagreeable to him and he has to hork it up(which clears his throat of the stuck food, which he re-eats.

You do realize that using natural remedies as cures counts as "science" right? They are forming hypotheses ("This herb will cure my illness") and testing them by taking those herbs.
This is different than a dog who eats grass, because the dog does so based on its innate genetic desire, whereas the people make their decision based on rational thought.
The tribes who tell you they never used to get sick are wrong. Most indigenous tribes have a very high infant mortality rate and a short life span. They may have a higher instance of illness after they are visited by outsiders who bring germs for which the natives don't have immunities, but they would get sick whether visited by scientists or traders.
Additionally, without science there would be no cars, computers, telephones and our infrastructure would be vastly different.
Without science the average life span would still be 25 and most people would die before adolescence. You would not have electric heat for your home nor would you have air conditioning.

How very picky and ignorant.
People in these tribes do die of malaria, yellow fever, ebola, dysentery and a whole host of unpleasant diseases. They also die from cancers but without the help of modern medicine they die a horrible lingering death.
In the developed world without scientists half the population would likely die in the first twenty years from rampaging diseases. The plague would return and ordinary things like flu would kill hundreds of thousands of people!!!
I suppose you would think it natural to watch a child die in agony from whooping cough that could have been prevented with a simple jab!
Then compare all the wars over religion and all the millions that have died and continue to die from religious warfare.
But what we really need is good education for people like yourself so that you can actually learn about these things.
All tribes do not have religious beliefs - some do not. And they certainly do not hold Christian, or any other modern religious beliefs.

Right, without science your life expectancy is around 30 to 40 years more or less. Any serious injury can either be fatal or cause you to become a liability especially in "remote tribes". Then there is the infant mortality rate... War is horrific now, but in the past it wasn't much better and in some ways war is much more decisive now so there is less loss of life.
Without religion, there could be many improvements i.e. "victim less crime" would not exist, many wars would be attributed to the real causes, countless people and animals would not have been brutally sacrificed. Children would not die due to their parents refusing medical care.
All in all, I'd say no religion would be better.

A world without scientists would have left us a bunch of fearful savages, hiding out in caves....
"Scientists" are more than just the nerdy guys with the white labcoats and pocket protectors. Anybody who sees something unusual or intriguing and asks the question, "What the heck is going on?" and tries to find out the answer is a scientist at heart.
Without science, there would have been no technology -- no computers, no electricity, no medicines -- not even fire.
You should get down on your knees and thank the stars above for scientists, if you want something to worship...

If it weren't for all the scientific discoveries made in the last couple hundred years, the current over-population of ignorant believers couldn't even feed themselves. When organized religion ruled Western Civilization, if you were very lucky, you might live to be 40 and half your children just might survive long enough to reproduce.
Religion was invented by ancient men who imagined human perception was the basis of reality and that thinking required telepathic communication with the gods.
Science was invented by men who understood that the physical realm is the basis of the only objective reality known to actually exist. Educated people understand that all thoughts, memories, emotions, and perceptions originate within the neurological structures of their own self-contained living brains.
Are you really so ignorant of the true nature of reality that you're willing to sacrifice the tangible benefits of civilization, in exchange for cowering before ignorant superstition?
I think not.

Sooo, the dark ages, a period of hundreds of years of violent religious clashing that claimed countless lives... that's enlightened to you, whereas modern medicine isn't?
Without religions would be better for. Religion -does- have a purpose in society, but it's not what advances civilization and our ultimate survival and development on earth.

If you prefer primitive tribes, by all means, go live with one. I'll take my scientific advances, thank you.
By the way, in a world without scientists, you wouldn't have a computer to type this on.
