Everyone's body chemistry is different. Some schools even believe that blood type is important. It's pretty obvious that for most peope a good diet consists of moderate portions of:

Vegitables
Fruits
Proteins (include beans, nuts, fish, and so on)
Startch
Larger portions of water
Perhaps vitamin and mineral suppliments

You should avoid eating too much:

Salt
Sugar and other calories
Animal proteins and fats

That eliminates fast food, restaurant foods, and frozen foods for the most part. One very interesting thing to consider is the combination of foods. This is called food combining. The idea is that some foods require an acid stomach, while others require a basic stomach condition. Remember from chemistry class how an acid and base will combine to form a salt? The same thing will happen in your stomach and this results in poor digestion of food.

A key thing is to eat moderate amounts of good food in the right combinations.
