I don't think they're sabotaging Jr.'s motors, but I don't think they are giving him the best they have either. After the failed negotiations, I think T just moved her focus to Truex, and not so much Jr. After all, how would it look if she let a championship winner leave her company?
Go Jr.>>>>

I think the editorial on Yahoo about this today, which a few answers have quoted, has it right. It makes for a great drama and many fans wouldn't put it past her but it probably isn't true. DEI stands to lose a lot more than it would gain by doing this. Firstly, keeping Jr. out of the chase leaves Truex without a teammate to help him in the chase. Secondly, now none of your drivers have confidence in their engines, (unless you make it public that Jr. is being sabotaged, which for obvious reasons is stupid) "If Jr. can have a bad engine we all could" becomes the mentality. Which could have an effect on the way they drive. And it hurts the reputation of DEI, the engine shop, and their staff. Plus, what does it hurt Jr.? He's out the door anyway, and now he can relax for the last ten races. I just don't think she is quite that vindictive or stupid.

Neither it is his right foot. He admitted this at Watkins Glen on a missed shift--You can do this on Oval tracks as well. Red lining down the front and back stetches over also call over revving. Also snatching the accelerator in the turns and coming out of the turns instead of feathering the pedal thus snatching the motor and causing oil pump belts to break. Which is what all the DEI engineers and mechanics STATED was what broke that caused the engine failure. I drive a stock car on dirt tracks and use the mechanical oil pump in the oile pan and mounted to thedrive gear and this doesnt happen.. A hardened stell gear and shaft is stonger than a rubber belt!!!!!

I am a huge Dale Sr fan. I have been from back in '86 but I have been very upset wit th e"new" management. How can a multi-car team with great racers all not have the same problem if they all use the same engines? They knew his engine was bad 2 weeks ago and did nothing. Told him it would last the whole race. Then they said he is running them to hard. Well if your 1 spot out of the chase you would think that you would make sure his engine is in tip-top shape before he took the flag. As soon as Dale said he was leaving he has these problems and no one ease did. If you look at it this way Truex Jr started to run harder and faster the very next week? They said nothing changed but thats B.S. What happened the last 3 months forget to push the petal down?

Even with her bad relationship with Dale Jr, she would not do this, it would not be a good business decision, it would hurt her owners points as well...I'm sure they have top notch security in the shop...I think Dale Sr would come back and haunt her big time if she even thought of doing such a thing.

It sounds awfully good. But it's probably not true.
Sure, seeing Junior fail might bring a slight smile to Teresa Earnhardt's face, but it would be one of the most foolish business decisions she could possibly make.
This is so because Junior is leaving anyways so the only person she is hurting is herself. Losing owners points which in turn actually gets your cars into the races.

If Theresa was to order sabotage on Jr.'s car, it would become very hard for her to attract other quality drivers to her operation. I DO think Dale is not getting the best motors, but I don't think anyone is purposely trying to make them blow up; that would be potentially dangerous for him and other drivers.

Who really knows. Who is to say Jr. isn't redlining it and blowing the engines himself?
Probably not. But the accusations could go both ways is my point.

Make you raise an eyebrow, doesn't it?
However, I don't think it's true. I don't think he's getting the best DEI has to offer, but I certainly don't think that they're giving him junk motors on purpose. DEI has had problems with the unleaded fuel ever since the switch. Menard and Truex have blown motors, too, just not as many as Jr.

I wouldnt say theyre sabotaging the #8 team, however it is a better investment if they put better equipment in a team, driver and sponsership that is staying. Im not saying its sabotage, but just like Roush did with Chad Little and Johnny Benson, there is always a team thats out there for testing. Not a conspiracy or spite, just better investsment.
