As in: do they feel the need to mate when theyre neutered?

2 of my cats make attempts to mate once in a while- they did this a lot when they were younger, not so much since they are now 10 and 10 1/2- now they mostly just cuddle and groom each other. (the male was neutered at 8 mths- the female was spayed at 2 yrs.) age of neutering may make a difference in this case, as in getting it done younger may cause the feelings to never develop, this seems to be the case with another of my female cats that was spayed at a very young age.

They don't feel the need or the hormonal pressure and frustration. However, sometimes, especially if the yhave mated before getting neutered, they do mate (because they know that it feels good, not out of hormonal instinct). They don't produce babies of course.

I believe occasionally animals, not just cats get the "feeling" they want to do something. My female chihuahua is 6 years old and every once in a while she'll get lovey with a teddy bear for a few seconds.
I don't believe its like before where they howl and get all hormonal tho if that's what you are asking.

Pumkin Is 8 years old.And has been fixed since he was 8 months old.And still to this day, he has a blankie of his own that he does hump.And also he tries every once in awhile to hump Budda Belly(spayed female)..She will lay there for a sec then kick his kitty a**...My vet asked me 2 questions,,He said aren't you fixed(hysterectomy) I said yes, he said ,don't U still do the dew? I laughed and said yes..So yes some will still try.As long as he is happy,Let him hump.LOL

If your cats just got fixed then their hormonal are high, it will settle down later. If your male cat had mated before he might think he still can, that will also take awhile too. My male stop ed after a month or two..

What? Do you know what neutered means?
They don't mate as far as I know. They just go about life without it. It doesn't seem to impact their quality of life as far as that goes.

no they shouldnt do but there is the exeption that will still get the urge they just cant make babies anymore
