One is not worse than the other. They are both despicable character traits but somebody who acts on these feelings and hurts others with it is a total waste of good skin and body parts.

there is no inherent negativity to the word prejudice. As an example: I think my nephew is the greatest 2 year old in the world. I may be wrong, but that is my prejudice. If I said he was the greatest white 2 year old in the world that would be racist and prejudicial. Or, I like mushroom soup, but hate tomato soup. That's just my prejudice. My point is a lot of words have been limited to only a few of their meaning, and we should not prejudice ourselves by only using them in a narrow way.

Actually the word racist and prejudice are different. The to be prejudice your are pre judging whatever it is that you have no knowledge about or dislike such as midgets, nerds, or people of different race without any kind of action towards them. To be a racist you have a made some kind of action toward a certain group of people or anything under a hate crime. There both are bad but to be a racist is terrible but everyone is prejudice in some kind of of way it could be anything but for that term or to be (PC) you can say Bias.

Racist is worst. If you are racist, you believe that people are inherently inferior to you because of there skin color. Prejudice is disliking someone without knowing them - but prejudices are opinions that are open to be changed.

Racism is only one of the many areas of prejudice and any form of prejudice will be offensive to someone. It depends on whose ox is being gored, as the saying goes, but any prejudice as a basis for forming opinions is a poor foundation for reasoning.

Racism is a type of prejudice. So it depends on what your prejudices are. Maybe you hate all citrus fruits because you had an orange once and thought it was too sweet and are now prejudice against lemons. Than racism is worse.

Racisim is to believe that one race is superior to another. Prejudice means to pre-judge. So anyone could display prejudice even against a member of their own race. So racist is far far worse than prejudice.

Hmm...They're basically the same thing. but I would say maybe Racism because often "prejudice" can help you in your judgement of someone. Everybody does it, usually not maliciously but we all do it.

If you see a white trash scumbag/chav/ned/scanger, you are gonna be wary of him because you know what they are like. You are not necessarilly gonna call him names and attack him (if you resect your life anyway!), but you will be prewarned about his probable character. You will not be surprized if he steals your car, you see? Of course you keep an open mind at the same time.
But if that guy was respectfull, wearing normal clothes etc. you would not have as much pre-warning.

But prejudice is also very bad, I and many of my friends have experienced prejudiced remarks and attacks. For liking rock music. Or having long hair. Ridiculous isn't it? That was by chavs/white trash/ravers/neds, whatever you wanna call them.

Racism is just stupid because most of it has no grounds or base in truth whatsoever. Like blacks are inferior in intelligence.... what? Hows that? Like its just stupid, it dosn't make sense!

But Irish Knackers have another category altogether, they should be sent to a deserted island. (If you don't live in Ireland you wont know)

So theres my opinions.
Good luck!

Racism is worse. Racism leads to unfair treatment of others, based on their race. Racism leads to violence. Racism is very much a form of both hatred and ignorance. Racism can bring about mob violence and tear a society apart. Prejudice is basically prejudging someone, and even though this is an ignorant practice, it very seldom leads to violence, there is usually no hate involved, and most instances of "incorrect" prejudice can and is rectified immediately. Not so with racism.

Both...neither one of them are better than the other! I do believe people start off being racist then gradually progress to being prejudice while growing old!

Racist. We all have our prejudices. There is nothing wrong with thinking your child is the most beautiful child in the world. Racist seek to subjugate an entire class of people to elevate their feelings of inadequacy.
