I've had a nice cup of tea and a slice of Coffee and Walnut Cake.

No adverse effects so far. I was going to have Chilli con Carne for tea tonight but I thought better of it. I thought the chilli would raise the temperature of my stomach which could cause it to act in a kiln like way, making the clay hard and difficult to pass. Thanks for the answers. I'll let you know when my waters break!

You can't digest clay but it doesn't mean that it won't do anything. The only problem with consuming clay is if the clay has anything in it that is toxic and leaches into your system (same issue as eating dirt). You're fine as long as you drink some water for a day or two to overcome the fact that some clays can absorb a lot of water. In fact, some clays absorb so much water (along with everything else in the water) that the original 'medicine' for diarrhea caused in Africa is a particular type of clay that absorbs the water in your intestines along with whatever bacteria or parasite is causing the diarrhea and your body flushes it out.

It won't digest - there's not much food value there. But it should pass through OK. Drink plenty of water, eat a couple extra pieces of fruit, and watch for it in a day or so.

How did you ever do that? Clay does not digest or break down, see a doctor.

Unless there was anything in it which might be sharp or toxic, it will pass through harmlessly in a couple of days.

Hope you had your stomach pumped out, because clay is not meant for human consumption for food.
