Is he omniscient or isn't he?

Because He had his only Son tortured and murdered so we anyone who believes it can live forever worshiping Him face-down at his feet.

That's why He's not to blame...see? He's really very loving.

He is, because here's how it works:

Power = Responsibility. You have power over that for which you are responsible, and you are responsible for that over which you have power. This is an a = a function. They are the same thing.

An omnipotent (or nearly so) being is therefore ultimately responsible for everything.

When a does not equal a here, as in failure to take responsibility, it becomes a dysfunction and throws the entire situation out of harmony. This is why so many people struggle with the concept of a deity as Christians define it. It's dysfunctional, it does not follow the basic laws of the universe, and people can tell.

It doesn't make sense to blame the most powerless players in the game for the situation. It is not just, and the deity being extremely powerful does NOT make it just. This is 'might makes right', which is false. People who buy into it are really worshipping power, not goodness or rightness or love. It tells you what their values really are.

Are you saying that now you are starting to see the great perfect plan of God. If o, then in that respect you can blame God for all because he is in absolute control and all is for a purpose OK.

In a "NO"s view it would be great if a lot more would get at least as far as you have in the light. Now do not stop there my friend.

Always an interesting question. Does God have the ability to not be responsible for something?

The Argument from First Cause that theists so readily offer, says that everything that happens must have a cause, and that Primary Mover is God. If their argument were true, it would inevitably follow that everything is indeed a result of God's actions.

Yes, He is omniscient! Along those lines, we must remember that we are not.
Deuteronomy 29:29 says: "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law".
Genesis 1:27 says: " God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them".
Ecclesiastes 7:29 says: "Behold, I have found only this, that God "made men upright", but "they" have sought out many devices".
Man was given an express command, He disobeyed, He is reponsible.

Yes God is omniscient, however he gave us all free will to make choices. He could give us all the mind set to know right from wrong but he wants us to choose.

I don't think he necessarily has to be, and I don't think there's sufficient Biblical evidence to support omniscience. It's a product of historical theology.

But for me the jury's still out, I guess.

God is omnipotent and omniscient. God takes the blame believe it or not when He allows His Son to die on the cross for our sins. He gave of Himself for you and for me. Adam blamed God for creating Him. And truth is God did create our imperfections. But He did to give us a choice whether to obey Him or not to obey Him. Having a choice to serve God is a gift he gave to everyone. Just like He gave us a choice whether or not to believe.

He's up there with Zeus and Ra... all of them mythological characters. All are reflections of people, and people make up things to explain the unknown.

You can't blame the fall of mankind on a mythological character created by mankind. But hey, that sounds awfully familiar.

Just because God is omniscient and omnipotent doesn't mean that He will blow you nose and wipe your behind for you.
