ive noticed that many bull sht answers get a thumbs up and serious answers get a thumbs down i think it will be better if the thums down can be removed, then people who dont like an answer just sustain ,and people that think an answer is good can give a thumbs up and only the questioner can rate an answer with a thumbs up ot down

I'm not sure this line of scripture is really applicable to what happens here in Yahoo Answers.
This is one of the most misquoted (and misunderstood) verses in the Bible. People think it means that we should never pass judgment on anything; how can that be true? Each of us makes hundreds of judgments every day. What to have for lunch. Whether or not to speak to a stranger. Whether to answer a phone call or let it go to voice-mail. What this verse REALLY means is that if you are going to counsel somebody else on a moral or ethical issue, you had better be sure that your own life is morally or ethically pure in that particular area. For example, a known adulterer speaking on the importance of marital fidelity just doesn't have any credibility on that particular issue.
As far as Yahoo Answers is concerned, I wouldn't put a lot of weight on thumbs up or thumbs down "opinions." That is all they are.....personal opinions, and any one of us has a bunch of them. Honestly, I think you are taking a thumbs indication from somebody else more seriously than you should. I mean, who cares what some stranger on the Internet really thinks anyway?

"Judge not lest ye be judged" and "he who is without sin cast the first stone".
How can we all be right? Thumbs up or thumbs down only shows that I do not agree with the answer or I believe that their answer really doesn't coinside with the question.
Everyone has their own ideas, faiths, beliefs, and knowledge to submit, but how do we judge who is right and who is wrong. I look at it as -I strongly agree or strongly disagree with the answer when thumbing. If I am not sure I do not vote.
I try to follow that statement to not judge someone based on my beliefs but knowledge.

"Judge not lest ye be judged?"
The sentiment implies the existence of a judge (God) which is not in evidence.
He/She/It may or may not exist. That's not the point.
To judge is to assume that you are objective and only God (assuming he exists) can truly be objective.
Would you want a non-objective judge judging you? No? Than this becomes another variant of "Do unto others as you would have done to yourself" - a sentiment that does *NOT* require the existence of God.
As for the thumbs up/down and "best answer"/"abuse" standards here, presumably everyone here knows how this site works and is here specifically because they want to hear opinions from the community.
They *WANT* to be judged.
Yeah, most of them want at least somewhat objective judges, but they've clearly made the decision to take what they get.

No giving a thumbs down to a very nasty answer is not Judging. It is disagreeing. I would love to see the thumbs down removed but not because it is judging.

Judgment is not a bad thing. We must make certain judgments every day of our lives. Should I tell this person everything? Should I marry this one? Will my money be safe with this person? Okay?
Jesus' admonition to not judge lest you be judged has been taken way out of context in our modern atmosphere of "tolerance and love." It's a deception from the pit of hell.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and no one can Judge us for what we think. In reference to the Bilblical quote, however, it is understood that an opinion, when advertisedand put to Public Vote, can lead to dangerous actions and carrys more consequences. A simple thought often ends up manifesting itself onto the physical plane. That is why thinking can be dangerous. Be careful what you wish!
All things begin with thought!

LOL. I am only worried about God's judgment. I do not want to have a thumb down from Him.

Yet another contradictory statement in the bible...it says not to judge in one place, then it says be judge and executioner in another place (eye for an eye).
I think you should avoid judgment where practical...to each his own so long as it doesn't negatively affect you or your family.

God does choose the middle, for out of it flow each and every of the themes of existence. each and every little thing we do is an expression of what's in our heart. the difficulty is that our hearts are desperately ill. we choose a transplant. it somewhat is ultimately what Jesus replaced into speaking approximately. God's furnish to furnish us a clean heart.
