Welcome Brother Das in the Family of God in Jesus Christ !

John the Baptist said it well: "I, John, merely baptize you with water; He, Jesus, will Baptize you in the Fire of the Holy Spirit!" (One Holy Father-Son-Spirit and just like Jesus here in Spirit ! ) Fire Baptism is the same as a Vision of God and/or a Spirit Birthday ! Wonderful ! Joy ! Peace !

Church ritual baptism with water is merely a social custom that does no real harm; and it doesn't matter if they sprinke or dunk, or with or without detergent soap. LOL

The time of your Spirit (Luminosity-Fire-Waves Presence of God upon you) is a personal matter between God and you as soul. Most Christians will grow daily in Spirit without having this tremendous, sudden experience; a few (needing strong rehabilitation or confirmation ?) will have this sudden, transforming Vision of God Super-experience. Stephen, Paul, Blaise Pascal, Charles Finney, and many others have profoundly perceived in Spirit our Father-Son God here as One Combined Spirit upon all humans !

Personal note: I was an atheist ages 12-25, agnostic ages 25-36; suddenly soul identity aware age 36; Vision-Spirit Birthday of God and Jesus here in Spirit as One to us in AD1977 at nearly age 38 and NOW and eternally. Thank You my loving and merciful Sovereign Creator -- Eternal Savior -- Father-Friend Jesus !

Let us all keep seeking and practicing the Presence of God in Spirit and in Truth with and in He the Spirit of Truth -- Jesus here !! See John 16:7-16 very important and all True !

ADDED NOTE: Yes, Jesus Christ Incarnate God-Man here in AD26, did get the water baptism of John, mainly because He went with one of his younger brothers to help him in Spirit while this brother was also getting baptized with water. John the Baptist was very shocked to see Jesus and his brother standing in line to be baptized ! John baptized over 200,000 humans. John later received a great, powerful message from Jesus when he was in prison. Jesus was very saddened to leave John in prison, but Jesus knew well the great Gifts that Jesus would soon give John up in Heaven ! Jesus let all of the evil human deeds work out here and also Jesus' later crucifixion by very sinful men. Jesus: "Destroy this body and presently I will raise it up again." and "I Jesus have the Divine Power to lay down my life and to take it up ageain." Amen !
Now see carefully John 12:32 Amen !

Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian Christian Truthist

I am a Christian as well... But you should not be too concerned with the rituals of tradition. God can touch you, or anyone else for that matter, without even being a Christian, per se. Just be thankful that you have HIM in your life. I'm not saying don't get baptised, but what I'm saying is you are loved and saved even without it. Jesus Himself was baptised... So I say, follow His lead.

I have never heard of that, as a baptist once they get saved they learn about baptism, and from there its off to the tank. No but I never heard of that, I would recommend getting into a baptist church, you will see why. It is although symbolic so maybe that is why it could be done without water, but doing it with water is going under and than coming back out washed of your sins. Not literally because we were born with sin and that can never go away until the day we meet the most High.

In special circumstances it can be done. For example, if you are dying on the side of the road after a car wreck and the only thing around is a coke, the coke could be used. If water is available it should be used though. That's my undersanding.

One reason is that the purpose of baptism is to physically cleanse you of your sins. This is why Catholics say that baptism is not symbolic.

Yes, you can be.

There are many who are baptised in the Holy Spirit soon after a conversion.
Ususally, a church doesn't have baptism in water often, maybe quarterly or if they have several that desire it.

Congrats on your decision, and know that angels in heaven are dancing over it! Welcome to the kingdom family.

Yes. Although baptism is good and shows your decision to be a Christian, it is not essential to salvation or any other gift from God.
Seek the baptism and remember that He only gives us good gifts.

yes......simply believing in him and that he paid for your sins on the cross, and saying this in the privacy of your own mind/heart.... God the father, I believe in your son Jesus Christ and that he paid the price for all my sins and that this is a free gift, there is nothing that I can do to earn or deserve it Lord, In Jesus name I pray... amen

You are born again into the Christian faith at that very moment and saved

Jesus did not receive the Holy Spirit until he was baptized in water !!!! That should tell you something...
Every conversion in the new testament was immediately followed with water baptism. Follow the teaching of the Pentecostals and you'll wind up in hell !
