Does anyone have a recommendation for the correct video codec for WMP 11? I have sound, but no video. This is really annoying. Please offer suggestions

the answer is you don't have the right Codec...
the fix to this and almost all you vid problems if to just down load the K-lite codec pack or VLC....
Personally I use both but default to K-lite so I'd suggest you get that...not only does it give you all the latest codec's it also unistalls any bad ones!.... so just go here ... http://www.codecguide.com/klcp_beta.htm and download your copy...its freeware...
If you want to try VLC you can get that here... http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
just remember to check for updates to both so that you never run into player problems...

Some videos require an additional software, this is called DViX and can be gotten on line for free.

download divx player and funny enough the codecs that are downloaded with it work for window players so you end up with two players that work its free from http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/download/?tiger_aff=z01_divx_download&cid=GGL0001003&s_kwcid=divx|1202954102&gclid=CKaSsrj-vY4CFRAFEgodEiSHxQ

You might want to go and redownload the installer and re-install it... I hope it works... Gud luck...
