We cant define exactly when we are living in this world. Bcos we have both positive and negative things happening during all the moments of our life. Also we have a dimension called time. This time is always moving in forward direction from our birth till our death. So we can predict the life after death will be eternal which means without any time limitation. Hence we cant imagine about this living here. Another prediction is heaven will have only positive aspects and Hell will have only negative aspects. Pain, sorrow and no peace of mind due to these things are negative aspects. Joy and peace of mind are postive aspects which we know now.

Hi. My definition of Hell is a place of unimaginable loneliness and darkness, being separated from God.

Edit ....When Our Lady appeared to the three children of Fatima in 1917, they were given a vision of Hell. Lucia the eldest child said if all mankind could see what we have witnessed they would never sin again. It is a place so horrible that words cannot describe it.

Daniel said it is a place of everlasting shame and contempt.

Isaiah said it is a place where the fire is never quenched and the worm never dies. When you read the surrounding verses, you see that he is referring to people when he says "the worm".

Jesus quoted Isaiah, but added to it, "Outer darkness, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth."

I heard one definition I like to use sometimes: solitary confinement forever, with nothing but your memory and your conscience, reminding you of every time you rejected God's call to you to repent and turn to Him.

The one definition that was alluded to by another answer, which is incomplete, says that it is the absense of God, but we must complete the thought: It is the absense of God and all that is good. Since all good things come from God, when God completely withdraws His very presence, then all good things will be withdrawn as well. That would include, but not limited to, friends, light, freedom from pain, love, and joy. All of these things are good, so they will not be found in hell. Of course the big one that disturbs me is hope. An eternity with no hope!

Hell will be a place where you are totally separated from God. That means there will be nothing we have the privilege to enjoy here on earth as in family, friends, capability of loving. It will be a place that you will be quite aware of that you chose to be you will feel very deceived. The Truth of God will then be known to you and will not be able to enjoy Him any more.

It is a plave of torment of the soul awaiting the punishment in the lake of fire at the great white throne judgement day to be cast into the lake of fire at the end, with the body & soul. Rev. 20:12-15

I think Hell is a place you go to be punished in your afterlife for misdeeds you committed and did not repent for while alive on earth. I believe there are levels to Hell for different degrees of offenses. I think it is not a place to be made fun of, it will be torture, not humorous or funny. It's a place to make amends until forgiven by God.

May God bless you and all who respond in this forum, and keep all in His Unfathomable Mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, I pray. Amen

Separation from God for eternity. Fire and thirst that will never be quenched. A place where the worms that eat you never die. Your body being ripped asunder by rabid animals, over and over again. Hatred 1,000 x 1,000 times worse than you have ever seen on earth. In other words, I don't think it is a happy place.

Heaven.
Seriously, I have no desire to spend eternity with some of these fanatical Christians. Give me ANY hall from my gods over that.

Hell is a horrible place with weeping and gnashing of teeth, as Jesus said. I think it would be your worst nightmare times 1000.
