Very general question.
Do some? Of course some do. You'd have to be some kind of retard to believe otherwise.
Do all? Of course not. You'd have to be some kind of retard to believe otherwise.
Either way you look at it, your question paints you in a derogatory light.

I go to a small church that doesn't have a ton of attendees.
My church actually gets LESS than it needs to maintain the building and whatnot every week. Does the church try to come up with scams to make people give more? Of course not. Everyone tries to give what they can, and we find ways to make ends meet otherwise. My church leaders are definitely not "controlling the masses" for money.

I think there are some churches out there that do that of course. I mean look at some of the past cult churches that have amassed followings that would die for the leader. There is always a percentage that would be taking from the offering to benefit them self unfortunately. I mean look at all of the priest who have been caught bending over little boys to get their pleasures and tried to hide that for years and years. I have no doubt that at least 6% would generate money from the masses for financial gain.

Majority of them don't. But some do. We have to consider that church leaders are also persons, they need money to support themselves and their families. However, some do hoard money for selfish motives. For the hoarders, they must remember, what they did will be done to them. So, it's still best to do the right thing: Don't be evil.

Some do:
However, the greatest majority sacrifice to save others, even suffering deprival and facing dangers in the mission field.
When a church officer sins, they were to be rebuked publicly as there is no excuse for hypocrisy among the clergy.
But Satan works hardest on church leadership, then he can more effectively deceive the flock.
Those who misrepresent Jesus, as He says, will plead their great service and miracles in the Judgment, but He will say: "Depart from Me, I never knew you" (Matthew 7:23).
All must meet their maker, and the end of the great conflict between Satan and God is revealed in the Bible code. See http://abiblecode.tripod.com

You are very naive if you doubt it. The road to Hell is paved with dollars for donations in somebody's collection plate. The intention began so that the 'preacher' could support his own family while guiding his congregation. Look how high and mighty are the churches who wage wars in the name of the Lord.Money is not God's. It has no place because he has no pockets for it.

Many corrupt churches do it even today... I saw a commercial selling "MIRACLE PRAYER CLOTHS"... this is the stuff that caused Jesus to whip out the merchants in his Church.

First, not all do that.
It is obvious to me when it is happening though.
It may be more than money.
History is littered with frauds that went for power, money, sex, position, political influence, etc.
When you find a true minister, one that is faithful to God, learn from that one.
