This was asked yesterday - strange. I don't see that ancient traditions are anymore likely to produce inner peace than modern stress relievers. Face it, inner peace has had since ancient time to produce peace and it hasn't yet.
But on the other hand we should pass on a legacy of trying for peace and tolerance.

The fundamental reality of all the great religions is one: to ennoble, bring peace, dignity, honor, and prosperity to the individual. The reality connects us to the unknowable essence and transforms us. That is the light, the eternal reality of religion.
However, the lamp, the social outward form of religion, outwears its use and must be replaced from age to age. The purpose of the continuously appearing universal educators throughout history is to renew the eternal reality, the light of religion and to replace the outward form, the lamp of religion with new social teachings to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization. We can see this pattern repeated in the spiritual and social teachings of the universal educators Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Christ, Muhammad, The Bab, and today Baha'u'llah.

I disagree with you on that idea. Personally it is a way of controlling people and conditioning them to not think for themselves
