just been offered the caravan but before i get a towbar fitted to the car want to be sure it will pull the caravan, I love the car so would like to keep it if possible

Called the Nissan Stanza Wagon in the US. We jokingly call it the "wallywagon" It will pull it empty and slowly up hills. That 1991 2.0 liter nap Z motor will really suffer if it is an automatic transmission please add additional transmission oil coolers. I would look for something rear wheel drive and with at least 200 hp. save money put the tow bar on a stronger more powerful car.

Check the weight of the caravan against the towing capacity of you car. If you don't find it in the manual, a dealer can tell you.
