Hz is short for Hertz which is scientific for frequency measured in oscillations per second. (UK mains is 50hz) and Watts is a measure of the power consumed (or delivered) by an appliance which is approximated by the equation Watts = Volts x Amps; where volts is the voltage supplied and amps is the (electrical)current rating of the appliance.
