They are both Nei Gung - Internal Work, but they are two distinctive but yet similar styles.
Baguazhang is a circular art that contains 8 variations to 8 palm techniques. It uses the principles of Yin Yang and the Eight Trigrams to create variations of techniques.
Tai Chi is also an internal art the utilizes the Yin Yang theory, the silk reeling and both Baguazhang and Tai Chi utilizes the 5 Element theory of Oriental Medicine which is what is known as "Poison Hand".
Hsing I Chuan is also a Nei Gung art that utilizes the 5 Element theory. All three arts contain similar techniques but have their own unique method of applying them.
Most practitioners who learn one usually, or should, learn all three. They are complementary and synergistic to each other.

No, not quite. Both are internal systems, in a very simple explanation Tai Chi tends to yield to opposing force then envelope, Ba-Gua tends to (through it's famous footwork) evade or redirect then envelope. Internal systems take longer to learn but the benefit is that much less energy is spent during application of the techniques. Internal systems teach body mechanics, techniques and principles, with more effort put in to the principles behind the techniques. If your principles are strong then your techniques and the combination in which you can apply them will be infinite, power is generated through proper body mechanics. An analogy of principles can be something like this; if you are taught the principles of driving PROPERLY and completely then you will be able to drive in any car or in any road conditions. Or maybe this; external systems techniques and principles can be likened to WORDS that can form any sentence, internal systems techniques and principles can be likened to LETTERS that can be use to make an infinite variety of words. Well that is my view point, I hope it helps!

No, not quite. They're both internal styles, and feature slow movements and Qi work, but there the similarities stop. The philosophy of each is different, and the forms are different.
