When/If I get back to my size 12 I'll be of a good size. I'm nine months pregnant and a 12 before the baby belly. I'm also six feet tall and a ten would be too small for me. Well, if I were to fit into a ten, I woudl be too small.
Personally, I think it's great that you're happy with your post-babies belly. I've seen many questions on this section and in Pregnancy about losing the post baby belly. I'm in my ninth month and I've only gained about 35 pounds. I eat healthy, and I'm betting that if I had been able to afford a good pair of walking shoes and/or pre-natal yoga classes, I would weigh even less. I don't care. My baby will still love me. My husband will still adore me. I do care, because I want to remain healthy, not be skinny.
I'm bugged by a current Weight Watchers commercial with Jenny McCarthy complaing that she had gained too much weight after her baby. Did she think that she would walk out of the hospital and be as stick thin as she was prir to conception? (It really irks me when she says she can eat a whole watermelon like that's a big deal. Gee, a watermelon is mostly water with some darn good vitamins.) Yesterday on the Today Show Tori Spelling was on and she talked about how her first ten post baby pounds came off easily (yeah, I've read that they come off easily becuase that is all of the baby and the placenta and stuff), but six months later she wasn't where she wanted to be. Then she started gushing about NutriSystem. I wonder what's gong to happen when she gets off the pre-packaged processed food.
I didn't put on most of my weight until my fifth month, maybe sixth. I'm not worried. It technically took me nine months to put in on, and I'm not expecting any miracles in this department. (The miracle is the marriage that God blessed my husband and me with. The miracle is that baby that is resulting from it.) I'll just have to wear my 14s for a while. (When I went back down to a 12, I wisely kept my 14s thinking that I might gain weight again, I might want them for pregnancy and/or post-pregnancy. This was even a couple of years before my husband and I really thought about kids.)
If you're referring to a clothing shop, I also suggest thrift stores for the same reason as the other person did. Also, I like thrift stores because they're much cheaper, I'm giving extended life to something that may not have much of a life left, and I'm not supporting environment destruction and questionable working practices.

Your are DEFINITELY NOT fat. 12 is a great size to be and certainly below the average size for the UK. I'm a size 12 and people are always saying how skinny I look. I have been a 10 and then I was skinny. 12 is just right!

You should of answered her: Probably Never, since I'm NOT pregnant? Idiot people. Some people just have to be rude. You are fine the way you are, and there is nothing wrong with a size 12. I'm a size 14 to 16 and people don't give me no lip.

yes, the world has gone skinny mad, but don't despair! You are completely normal!
I myself am a size 12 and my flatmate told me I was 'chubby', personally i think this is disgusting, as my boyfriend says he loves me just the way I am!
At the moment it is super popular to look like a rake, and I don't think it looks good at all. As a 12, i bet you look great...and especially after 4 children...good for you!! So keep your chin up and ignore the stick insects!!

That was just incredibly cheeky. The poor person probably thought they were being clever, and then felt totally embarrassed. A 12 is definitely not fat, you have nothing to worry about.

I can completely relate to your embarrassment, and possible anger at the jerk. When in doubt, they should shut up.
After I turned 45, I started getting a bit of a beer-bellyish dealy, and some butt-smear asked me if I was pregnant also.
I'm a guy.
Grrr

Boycott this shop and the whole of the fashion industry, there are many excellent charity shops which sell nearly new clothes for good causes, where the assistants do not work on commission.
