I know it's not Russian, so I translated part of the text pretending like it was Russian.. and that part of the text came out like this:

Kashni son HAYEN emechesene purnasa Kertész tarashat Tese. CNN rayonenchi Yus Shahal yalenche suralna Nadia Alexeyeva, the Hai intelligently lartna tellevsenchen Perne purnaslare
If the parts that are not made up of weird letters are pronounced, it sounds like a language close to Russian, not Greek. Some of the words were also able to translate into English, so it must be related to Russian in one way or another. Is it Ukrainian? Ukrainians use an alphabet which is very similar than that of the Russians. It is not Estonian, because the Estonian alphabet includes a lot of Latin letters (like the ones we use)

Please let me know when you find out, I want to know! :)
Good luck.

***** ADDED: After researching, I came to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%99 by entering one of the cyrillic letters in wikipedia. According to the list of languages that use Й, the language must be either Russian (which u said it wasn't though), Bulgarian, Ukrainian, or Belarusian.

Check this link out! I am almost positive it will help you out.
