How does God's identity as the "Almighty" compare to His identity as being all about beautiful love and loving?
This was an issue in my mind as a teenager. I had recently learned about this Krsna concept. But, when I meditated on this concept of loving God as Krsna I was also confronted with this aspect of God being the Almighty.
In this material existence we sometimes have to remember God's identity as the Almighty. But, the identity of God as being all about love is preferred. When we are sufficiently advanced in our understanding of God then perhaps we will be more qualified to understand God as being all about love.

Almighty means that God is all-powerful. He is, afterall, God. I don't see this as conflicting which His beautiful and loving nature. Although there are other characteristics about God that seem to conflict...but He is God and can be all of this...He is the I Am. The more you learn about God the better you will understand it and God reveals it to people. Hope that helps some!

GOD - I don't know anything about Him.
But, the term 'Almighty' need not mean somebody sitting on a high chair with a whip in his hand. That thing which can spark the spirit of Love (not to be confused with attachment to material desires) within your heart must be mightier than anything or anydody. Hence, there shouldn't be any conflict between calling GOD as the Almighty or Compassionate Lover. It's one & the same thing.

Like u need to know grief to understand happiness. U need to know sick to understand health. So god is almighty to make people understand and able to define his beautiful and loving identity. I guess the love identity is dominant because even until now God use the almighty less than forgiving chacacter that comes from the loving identity.

Firstly, thank for the link, looks interesting.
God is a God of love (his character) and but he is also an almighty being (his power).
God at times has to punish those whom he loves, because he is just. This does not make him any less loving and does not go against his nature

Actually, it reinforces the identity.
I say this because only the Almighty can truly appreciate beauty and love in the sense of love alone. Also one who can love for love alone is Almighty.
So basically God's identity as Almighty and as love itself is mutually reinforcing.

The Almighyt aspect of God is like God at the office (Lord Vishnu)and the beautiful all loving aspect is God at home.(Lord Krishna) In general I don't' really seek after the almighty aspect,of God, I seek after His love and beauty. Though When I am scared I seek after Lord Nrisimhadeva who concurs all demons and protects His devotees. The Gopies who are the best lovers of God, seek after Lord Krishna the beautiful loving aspect.

What you say in japa-mala is all right. The nature controls us. And therefore the virtues you stated on that site are certainly naturally almighty god. We respect these virtues.

God's love is automatic, He has given us life forever and He wants us for company... God is also strong enough to let us learn what suffering is all about, this shows the ultimate measurement of His love.
