When I pray I talk to him personally. I do not chant written words since I cannot connect to him that way. I do not believe chanting is the right way to pray. Speak from your heart.
I also do not beg. Begging is a sign of lack of faith. I ask in belief that what I am asking for I will receive somehow. I pray as if the prayer is already answered and thank him for it ahead of time. That eliminates the need for begging completely and shows my faith.

I pray as though I'm having a conversation with a friend. Sometimes I rail against God, sometimes I beg and plead, sometimes I try to reason, sometimes I just thank Him and praise Him, and tell Him that I love Him.
I don't normally say prayers that were written by someone else...the only one I use is the Lord's Prayer, and I use that very seldom.

Jesus told us to say The Lords Prayer { The Our Father} I try
to include that in my prayers, depending on the situation I will
speak as to a friend, but I have also prayed in a hysterical state.

The form of prayer I have come to know is as if I'm having a conversation with a friend who is far more superior to me, almost as if I am a dog asking my master for a biscuit but only if he knows that it is the best thing for me or the person I am praying for. I use my own thoughts as God does not need words to communicate.
Peace,
AAD

Matthew 6:7 Jesus said "....Use not vain repetitions..."
Prayer should be from you, not from someone else.
Prayer is asking, confession, adoration, thanksgiving, and fellowship with God. God wants us to do as any father would, for His children to seek guidance from Him and love Him. The only way to get closer to someone is to talk to them.

Tthink of how he would want to hear you would he want to hear the same old prayer or would he want a sincere heart felt plea for guidance and well I always tell my son to talk to him as though he were right there next to him in person as though he were his best friend.

With worship and respect, and as a friend. No recitation.
Though sometimes I sing parts of Psalms.
