I had those for 2 years now and I finally have control !!! Just visualize those Panic Attacks as a ghost since those symptoms of Heart Attack, Throat, dizziness, you cant breath, out of body feeling .. ARE NOT REAL. Is just your brain setting off some alarms caused by STRESS. So darling be cool and when you start feeling weird, FIGHT and look at that panic ghost in the eye and tell him the truth: IS NOT REAL!! you are perfectly fine and you can just stand there and nothing will happen... when they start to come to you, just try to think: "Nah, I wont worry about this anymore" Kill the Panic Attack because you can ... is in your head and you are to gain control of it !!!! be well.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Just realize that it is just a panic attack and it can not hurt you, no one has ever died from a panic attack.

Sometimes it helps me to feel my heart beat and try to slow it down.

Call and talk to a friend to take you mind off the situation

You'll never have a panic or anxiety attack if you take a light anti-anxiety med. They really work, and immediately. :)

I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but there are many that are NOT habit-forming. Good luck to you. I sincerely hope you find what you're looking for. -LL

Press your hands into your stomach. Not hard, but firmly. Then breathe in, very deeply and slowly. Breathe so that your expanding stomach pushes on your hands. Keep doing that. Within a minute, you'll start feeling a difference.

Watch a movie. Not a sappy chick flick, but not a thriller either. Something like an older Bond movie, or one of Clint's early Westerns.

I like to take a luke-warm shower, then lay down in bed and watch a movie if I can stomach it.

Breathe first of all baby. I'm so mad that I just saw this. I've had them for years. Different things work at different times for me but I always have to pace. I wish I was there. I would hug you and talk to you and stay with you until it passed. ♥
