I agree with your conclusion (homosexuality is not morally wrong) but not your reasoning.
The fact that sexual preference is innate does not necessarily indicate its moral value.
Homosexuality is morally neutral because, as you say, it is not intrinsically any more harmful than heterosexuality. This would still be the case whether it were innate or a choice or anything else.
[Edit] I'm not sure if the poster above me genuinely believes what he's written or if he is just trying to bring Christians into disrepute. The "brainwashed" moniker suggests he's being ironic.
You are free to make up your own mind about whether being Christian means you must interpret Biblical texts the way he says you must. Most "Christians" don't, but the ones who do say the ones who don't aren't "true christians". You're free to decide whether to agree with him on this, too.

God does not create people to be homosexual. Having a desire and acting upon it are two totally different things. For instance I have a desire to smack the hell out of stupid people but I have the ability not too. How is that you profess to being a Christian and yet believe that the clear bible teachings regarding homosexuality are either false or of no importance? Have you considered that maybe it is a mental illness like , schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or any other? Just a thought. Have you asked God to help you with these desires? I am NOT saying that this sin is worse than any other, but your mindset is very dangerous. The only sin that can not be forgiven is the one never confessed and repented of. But hey God loves the sinner even though he hates the sin. God Bless You.

It really is pointless posting this question as all it does is bring all the bible thumpers. I'm not sure it even says the word "homosexual" in the bible, they just translate certain phrases and make them sound like they do. For all they know they translated it wrong. I gave up on them a long time ago they make "witty" comments like saying it isn't a choice, when there not gay. Don't bother reasoning, they'll just throw more useless phrases in your face.

just because it hurts no one doesnt mean its not a sin... if youre "Chrisitian" you should know that in the bible it clearly states:
Leviticus 18:22
22 Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
And people are not BORN gay! how many times does it have to be said. People choose to be.. they learn from their influences growing up. it is a choice. Homosexuality is a sin.

Personally, I don't know why you even care what anti gay Christians think. They don't pay your bills. They don't feed you or clothe you. They don't provide for your future. So, what does it matter if they pull a bunch of Bible quotes at you in order to justify their hate of you?
I agree with you in principle. But, then, I don't believe in God or any of the mumbo jumbo Bible stuff anyway.

You say you are a Christian, Christian means follower of Christ, Christ is "The Living Word of God", The Bible is "The written word of God", thus in order to be a "Christian-follower or Christ" one must believe what the Bible-"written word of God says, so let's take a look at what "THE BIBLE-word of God says"...
The Bible says that:
1. Homosexual behavior is wicked: Speaking to the men of Sodom who wanted to have sex with his guests, Lot tells them, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing.” (Genesis 19:5-8)
2. Homosexual behavior is detestable: “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.” (Leviticus 18:22)
3. Homosexual behavior is dishonorable: “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading [dishonoring] of their bodies with one another.” (Romans 1:24)
4. Homosexual behavior is unnatural: “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men. …” (Romans 1:26-27)
5. Homosexuality is unhealthy: “... And received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion…." (Romans 1:27)
6. Homosexuality is not a state of being (inborn), but a behavior that can be conquered:
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers not male prostitutes not homosexual offenders … will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were [past tense]. But you have been washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
Homosexual behavior is wicked because, like rape, it dehumanizes the person caught up in the practice. It also constitutes a great rebellion against God's revealed purpose for mankind.
Homosexual behavior is detestable because, unfettered, it marginalizes the importance of the basic family unit. The fact that most people still are naturally repulsed by homosexual acts testifies to the truth of Leviticus 18:22.
Homosexual behavior is dishonorable because it destroys the fundamental masculinity or femininity of those who are trapped in the lifestyle. Sex and conduct that is forbidden by a holy God cannot honor Him.
Homosexual behavior is unnatural because the act uses the body in a manner never intended in the design nor can the act ever serve any biological purpose.
Homosexual behavior is unhealthy because the behavior itself spreads disease and leads to an overall risky lifestyle. Note the Bible’s wording: “received in themselves the due penalty.” This is not imposed from outside, but is the body’s own sad harvest reaped by medically unsound practices.
If homosexual behavior were thought to be inborn, Scripture would not have said, “Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. …” (Romans 1:26-27). The clear implication is that the homosexual acts were deliberate choices.
If homosexual behavior were thought to be unchangeable, Scripture would not have said, “And that is what some of you were [past tense]. But you have been washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11)
You either believe the Bible-"Word of God" or you are not a Christian.

It's not a sin.
Even if it was, it would not matter, according to the Bible no one is free from sin. We are all sinners so there is no need to worry either way.
