Be very careful with Tylenol, also known as Acetaminophen. I'm not sure about the Tylenol PM formula with regards to the components other than the Acetaminophen.

4000 milligrams or 4 grams equal to 8, 500 mg tablets is the maximum safe dose for an average size adult per day. However taking this dose for a long time can lead to liver damage, just as a single large dose can. Many doctors, and researchers however believe this daily limit should actually be no more than 3000 milligrams.

Single doses of 6000 milligrams are generally considered to be dangerous, and can potentially drive a person into liver failure. Doses of 10000 milligrams, thats 20, 500 milligram pills, are usually a cause for immediate hospitalization.

Tylenol is generally considered to be a, "safe" medicine by the public, however it can be fatal or cause liver injury very easily. Do not take too much Tylenol ever.

the max dose of tylenol in a 24 hour period is 4000mg. for benadryl (which is the second active ingredient in tylenol pm) it's 200mg in a 24 hour period.

for each tablet of tylenol pm there is 500mg of tylenol and 25mg of benadryl .

so max amount of the tylenol pm is 8 tablets in a 24 hour period. no more than this should be taken.

tylenol is the most common drug overdose in america b/c everyone thinks it's truly harmless b/c of it's over the counter availability. this is NOT the case.

too much tylenol is an overload for your liver and can cause it to sporatically shut down. this causes you to be VERY sick. it' turns your skin and eyes yellow and can make the rest of your organs slowly start to shut down as well, causing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure (you stop breathing).

too much benadryl can cause your system to be sluggish-meaning your heartrate, blood pressure, and breathing all slows down to dangerous levels which can also cause cardiac arrest and respiratory failure.

overdose is NO fun provided you survive it to begin with. if you do, you face weeks to months of psychiatric treatment in addition to whatever therapy you need to recover from the damage it caused to your organs.

First, read the box. I think the recommended dosage is 2 tabs. That means that taking more than 2 pills can cause problems. There's a reason they put those warning labels and directions on packages of medications.

I would say to stick with 650 mg max (you may have to add up numbers of pills based on the actual mg in each pill). The problem is liver damage, it's just as bad as drinking too much alcohol.

Don't take any more than what the directions tell you to. Other wise that could make you sick.
