I don't see any problem with you using disposable utensils for an informal party. Just be sure they are the heavy duty, durable type and match your color scheme. Have fun and Happy Birthday to your mom!

Plastic disposable utensils are a great solution to informal parties. They make plastic tableware look like you were serving on china. A good host knows how to tidy up quickly without missing a beat. Plastic allows this to happen. Have Fun.

If the party was clearly noted as informal then I don't think your guests would mind eating with disposable utensils. Just make them color coordinated with the event to look more festive and stylish.

it just depends on what you are serving. If it's just finger foods or a cook out than disposable ones are fine along with paperplates, but if you are having a sit down informal dinner than use the real ones.
