I am leaving for the Army in 6 days and I wear contacts. I do not own a pair of eye glasses. I know I can't wear contacts at Basic. So how long after getting there will I be issued my BCG's (the military issued glasses)?

It happens pretty fast. No worries, you will get them in plenty of time for marksmanship training.

Well, It took them a week to get me my BSG's, but others didn't get them untill a few days before graduation, they all had civilian glasses though. If you don't have any glasses, Just tell the optomitrist when he checks you out at inprocessing. Honestly, You could probably just get away with wearing contacts though. Just be descrete about it. Wake up a few minutes before everyone else, to put them in, and take them out when the drill sgts leave after lights out.
They say, never wear your contacts when you go to the field, but I always do and haven't had any problems, you just gotta keep them clean.
If you wanna play it safe though, just wear your BCG's. Buy a bottle of anti-fog spray too, you'll need it. Get yourself one of those nifty straps for them too, they are huge and will keep falling off if you have a small head. Best of luck bro.

Within the 1st few days at Reception you will be given an eye exam no worries .

Within the first week generally.
You are allowed to wear your contacts untill you receive your glass's.

You'll get them before you leave reception. Should only take a few days.
