LOL! Good question. Mostly the differences come from what the Bible terms as "Trusting in the arm of flesh". In other words people trust whatever a man or their minister or priest teaches them and not go through the effort to find out for themselves.

The Holy Spirit can certainly lead you... but you have to be willing to study it out with real intent, searching for the truth with all your heart... not with a half hearted attitude. You also have to study the scriptures in depth to gain a strong foundation so that you are then not easily deceived by cunningly devised fables.

Most false doctrines come from traditions that are passed down from parent to child. The child rarely questions their church and blindly goes on believing that their church is true and cannot even fathom or imagine the possibility that many doctrines in their church are false. They do not even consider the possibility.

Jesus says "Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you". He also taught the parable of the pearl of great price that a man sold all to obtain... that the gospel was this pearl. You have to search with real intent... with all your heart truly desiring to be led, and I assure you you will be.

Unfortunately, if you are led, you will inevitably discover doctrines in your church that are not true. If you oppose these doctrines and try to correct them more likely than not you will be hated and become an outcast. You may even find yourself having to leave your church because it is so doctrinally off base. Don't expect any to follow you. I left 2 churches for that reason and no matter how sound my arguments were on why I left them, not one followed me.

While I stay with my current church because I believe they are the closest to the truth... they are far from perfect. There are a few lesser doctrines that many in this church believe that I do not agree are taught by the scriptures. I stay with them because these lesser doctrines are not important enough to leave them over and still they are far closer than many others. In some ways I am still searching but do not expect a pure church until the 2nd coming of Christ.

I am loath to ever claim that my church is the one true church (though some in my church have). To me it is up to God to say who is His church and who is not. It seems to me to be arrogance to claim one's church is the one true church, especially when you observe failings within it's membership or teachings. There is a prophecy that we received about this attitude that really rings true today:

" For it shall come to pass in that day that the churches which are built up, and not unto the Lord, when the one shall say unto the other: Behold, I, I am the Lord's; and the others shall say: I, I am the Lord's; and thus shall every one say that hath built up churches, and not unto the Lord— And they shall contend one with another; and their priests shall contend one with another, and they shall teach with their learning, and deny the Holy Ghost, which giveth utterance. And they deny the power of God, the Holy One of Israel; and they say unto the people: Hearken unto us, and hear ye our precept; for behold there is no God today, for the Lord and the Redeemer hath done his work, and he hath given his power unto men;"

You have it a nutshell - 'the rest but 1 doctrine is deluded'
The Christian Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ so I would expect a person with that indwelling Spirit to believe the Bible and only the Bible. In spite of popular sentiment among many Protestant clergy, that there are many paths to heaven, there is only one.

The worlds "religions" are linked more than man can even comprehend let alone care to realize. For them man would have to realize that it is all true, and we are all brothers, even though skin is different.

YHWH = G_D of the Hebrews
YHWH = YeHoWaH for Native Indians
YHWH = Catholic, Christian GOD, LORD (exodus: I AM)
YHWH = YaHWeH for english and other off shoots
YHWH = Allah in the Qu'ran
YHWH = The oldest name on earth for G_D

Man's own ignorance is what has blinded him to his fellow brothers.

I can show you Native Stories, Prophecies that all line up with the Bible. Even the Shawnee's have a legend of how they got to America. And it mimics Moses 40 yr march and the Red sea to the letter. And G_D spoke to the "hosts" in Genesis when He made "man". Those "hosts" if defined is a "large group or mass of people". Now read up on the Iroquois Indians and their original name was the " the original hosts " or "the first people". The world is one big twisted mess before our eyes.

Depends. Many people claim to have the Holy Spirit but do not, or obviously do not live according to it.

Because people have a serious habit of getting in His way.

Mat 7:13 ¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Mat 7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Jesus founded one church, the Catholic church, and he promised the Holy Spirit to that church as its' constant advocate and comforter.

The Holy Spirit manifested himself on Pentecost, just as Jesus had promised ... and he remains with the authentic and universal church forever, as the Spirit of Truth, who guides the church from age to age.

Believe it or don't.
