If they are here to help people or help spirits, why is their help so expensive? I understand the need to survive, especially when doing the job full-time, but does it have to be around $80 for half an hour? I desperately need spiritual guidance but it is so expensive to find someone who could help me.

Woe to those who make commerce out of the Word of God.
I pray you will be led to a "real" Holy Spirit filled place of worship and healing.
Shalom, may the Peace of the Lord be yours

I see that others have already mentioned the Scripture I was going to say: "Freely ye have received, freely give." I am a Christian but that doesn't mean I agree with all that I see going on in the church today, and charging for counseling is definitely something that I disagree with. We don't see Jesus charging Nicodemus or the woman at the well! Also, Peter rebuked Simon, who wanted to buy a spiritual gift. (Acts 8: 9 - 24)

As others have said here, seek God and spend time with Him. In doing so, you can receive a lot of healing. I will list some good websites below also.

The first 2 are about God's love for us. One way to receive a greater revelation from God about His love, is to spend time just quietly waiting on Him, and the last website I'll list has good music to help do that.

You can also pray that God will lead you to people of His choosing, who can help you with spiritual guidance. I know that listening and being a friend are sometimes just what a person needs, and God can send those people to you who can be there for you like that.

Supply and demand obviously... Only a few people have the guts and lack of morals to do this sort of thing to other people, while a great many desire their services.

You aren't going to get any better "help" for real than you are for free, other than finding a more convincing liar, or perhaps a legitimate psychiatrist (I'm not saying being spiritually troubled makes you mentally unstable, just that they're good people to talk things out with and resolve all sorts of troubles.)

If you want spiritual guidance within the frame of some religion, go to a priest, a prayer-leader, a guru, or the equivalent for some public facility... They aren't that hard to find, I know how to get ahold of Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist, Muslim, Sihk, and to the extend they have them, Wiccan holy-people in my area, the Scientologists are the only ones I know of that charge for such things (which is lucky for everyone).

If you want spiritual guidance outside of the frame of any organized religion, I might recommend contacting all of the above, or whatever combinations suit you. Weight advice as seems right to you.

If you're seeking to contact someone who is no longer living, or looking for healing, I'd go back to recommend the psychiatrist to work out those problems, because no one can legitimately provide these services, even if they can make you think they did.

Only a few spiritualists have "the gift" and may charge something for their assistance. I agree that many of these people charge too much. Beware as you choose someone to give you help in your life's walk. The only person who has helped me has been the psychic, Terry Engle. This is a positive. Try her at www.terryengle.com - She is a God-send. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace, Love and God Bless.

I would never trust anyone who wanted to charge me money. When I was "practicing"....I did charge....it was flowers.....it didn't matter if they were bought or picked....just flowers....I am of the opinion that every one of us are given the same special gifts that others claim and charge money for. Some of us tap in to it and use it and some of us don't. I got a lot of flowers....

The are crummy people.
You'd think that if they really had THE gift from God that they would just give it and share it willingly.
People are real schmucks

Try a full gospel pastor or a charismatic priest or a bona fide medicine man.

the people that are chargeing. are most likely frauds.

if you need a teacher or spititual guide. just look. you will find one. and most of us (the good ones in my opinion) have full time jobs to cover living expenses.

Because they know people who are stupid enough and/or desperate enough to believe in this nonsense are stupid enough and/or desperate enough to pay big bucks .
Try people who have KNOWLEDGE of the human mind ( Psychotherapists , etc.) You can find low cost ones through your local mental health association .

Good question. I'm not at all happy about it because of what Scripture says: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8).
