In Hindu religion there is space for everyone. One can believe in God or be an atheist it does not matter. To some the very idea of a God may seem silly. After all nobody had seen God.

I love how you just plug in something good about religion right there without even thinking about 9/11, 7/7, the crusades, the inquisition, the persecution in small communities of people who are not of the Church, catholic priest pedophiles, or any of the other seriously twisted stuff that occurs as a result of the actions of religious people in the name of religion.
I don't really care if you believe in God, but I certainly won't stand by and allow people to assume that Atheists are amoral people. This new generation of Atheists are fighters.

There are plenty of logical reasons for people to behave civilly towards each other.

It is a shame when people deliberately ignore them and instead make things up in order to provide a reason for it.

People who truly care about each other do not need orders from a heavenly being to force them to be nice. By relying on those orders as justification for civil behavior, religions imply that there is no other reason for it. That implication is entirely incorrect and is one of the main reasons why immorality is so prevalent in society.

If people would learn to ignore religion and instead embrace logic and empathy, society would greatly benefit from it.

I don't care if others live a life of fantasy.
I appreciate it if anyone at all, religious or not, does work to benefit society.
I am an atheist HIDING my beliefs (or lack of) in order to do humanitarian projects that will benefit a whole nation.
I don't care that everyone else in the organisation is deluded as long as the work gets done.
It is a shame that I KNOW that all these god-fearing people would reject me and my invaluable contribution to the cause if they knew that I was not one of them in a dreamland existence.
Do they not practice tolerance?
I've yet to find out.

i think for the comparable motives "Christians" get all bent out of shape approximately atheists and examine out to transform them. lack of know-how or intolerance of others viewpoints. Being an atheist does not make you a foul man or woman, yet being a foul Christian gadgets a detrimental occasion and leads others faraway from God, no longer in direction of him. So, is it greater powerful to be an atheist or a foul Christian?

Well... why don't you try thinking of it as a public service.

In case you haven't noticed, there is a 'cultural war' in progress. On one side, we have sanity, rationality and critical thinking. In the opposing corner, we have gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, drooling stupidity and hypocrisy (religion). This happens to be a battlegound in that war... essentially, a war of ideas.

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" ~ Douglas Adams

We're not seeking to 'convert' anyone... that is futile. The systematic religious indoctrination (brainwashing) that has been inflicted upon the 'other side' conveys a demonstrable immunity to things like reason, logic, evidence and critical thinking.

However... I consider it to be our ethical duty and moral responsibility as sane, rational human beings to intervene, in the hope of protecting vulnerable, questioning young minds from being infected by the dangerous and harmful religious 'meme' (viral idea)... protecting them from droolingly stupid nonsense like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PPbk&mode=related&search=

Also... honesty compels me to admit that I have a kind of morbid curiosity and fascination in observing the alleged 'minds' of believers in action.

why do others care about atheist not believing in god?

atheist for one , feed homeless and also helping in of course a smaller scale BECAUSE they care about those people , and not because god ask them to do so.
thus their help is sincere and genuine.

my country often organise helps and donations to other country without religion as reason or wadeva.
so , if god dint ask you to do good , you're remain unhelpful and all the negative stuff ?

and why do atheist care about others ? well the 'others' is busy converting every other guy ? and some of the every other guy are related to the atheist be it their children or spouse?

would you like it if atheist convert your son out of the religion same as you ?
you see any atheist criticise when someone do good in god's name such as helping , rebuilding and stuff?

No matter what the reason, causing the least suffering possible is good.

Still, does one need a god to do something good?

Disagreeing with some of a person's beliefs isn't the same as opposing all of that person's actions.

It's not the ones who do good that are a problem it's the ones who use their religion to grab power and wealth and oppress society that are the danger. The ultimate believer is the suicide bomber.

Because they feel that a belief in God does more bad than good, therefore we would be better off without God
