It's cool though science should be criticitized and re-tested over and over again. That's why it's so great!

It's even funnier how you say stats like "40% of atheists turn theist in when researching science" and a lot of scientist are studying quasi science that proves the existence of god but don't cite any references.

Very convincing!

Yah my question is bad, I shouldn't call out the hypocrites that condemn science but don't stop to think that maybe they're wrong.

I know I might be wrong, that's why I'm an agnostic and any proof or facts that come my way could very well change my mind depending on the scientific evidence.

Never mind non critical religious people like Martin Luther.

Never mind that many of the countries top universities and hospitals have religious affiliations.

Don't judge by the extremes.

Isn't it funny how atheists can be so critical about religion, but never critical about their own lack of belief? I think so.

Most atheists are so quick to just accept that their is no "god" or existence beyond our own physical one. I think that is ignorance and stubbornness on their part. I think it shows a lack of intellect and a lack of desire for broad scientific inquiry.

There are tons of SCIENTIFIC (quasi- and true-experimental) studies published in recent years that show SUPPORT for a higher being (a God) and for an afterlife. Instead of looking into the topic, atheists choose to write it off. This definitely shows a lack of intellectual vigor on their part.

P.S. - I am a scientist by the way. And I trust what the data tell me. There is inconclusive evidence for both atheism and religion, and I believe it is thus foolish to outright denounce either position.

You may not know because you're young but science has been jerking our chains for a while. In the 70's we were told that the earth was going into a ice age, now it's gobal warming. Once eggs were bad for you, now they're good for you. Etc. As you get older, you will notice these things. Religion has been here since the dawn of man, it has good and bad points.

I would just like to know where some of these people on this site get their information on Christians.
What difference does it make to you whether a Christian is critical of their own religion or not, or whether a Christian is critical of science or not. Are you that scared of Christians that you have to make fun of them, or do you think that you are perfect and better than a Christian? Why are some people critical of things they don't understand but are not critical of themselves?

Funny and sad. One of my mentors - who should certainly know better - commented last week that we should just accept the fact that the world is only 7000 years old. I had to bite my tongue.

I've had people tell me they don't believe in biology just because of Darwin. (C'mon people, his theory was wrong & he even admitted it, but it doesn't mean there's absolutely no evolution!)

I used to think such blatant ignorance should be punished, but then it occured to me that God will probably take care of that. I can just imagine Judgment Day, and God asking some of these people "Why did you think you could ignore the facts? I gave you a brain, but I guess you installed the off switch."

This is typical for all religions. They believe what they are taught to believe and anything beyond or different than what they were taught is a falsehood. In the middle ages religion thought that the earth was the center of the universe and the sun revolved around the earth. When Galileo formulated his theory that the sun was the center of our universe the church almost had him put to death. Most religions go by what was written a thousand or more years ago and if anyone questions this belief they are ridiculed.

What's really funny is 40% of scientisits that start out to disprove that God exists, end up believeing. My religion has it's problems. Just like all the others, but it's better than nothing at all. Free will. Do with it what you will. Your choice. Your destiny.

Fanaticism is not religion. To condemn others faith while considering only one's own religion as gospel has led to terrorism. This is the very negation of Christian religion.

Not my kind of humor even though I like irony and stupidity, hypocrisy doesn't seem to appeal to me so much. Questioning science is good but I rather them question it for the right reasons...
