Not me.
We'd do a better job by making synthetic fuels for cars or installing Personal Rapid Transit systems which don't have the limitations of those death traps (even safety bicycles whilst a big improvement over ordinary bicycles are dangerous).

I remember the 1970s when liberals were screaming that we were heading for a new ice age because of pollution. Then the world started warming up and they changed their lies and said pollution causes global warming. I like clean air and water as much as anyone and like the idea of doing practical things to stop pollution, but the truth is people are not responsible for global warming and were not responsible for the global cooling liberals were screaming about 30 years ago. The earth goes through cycles, and the sun varies in its heat output.
Bike rentals are a good idea for people who live in cities where such a business would be profitable and provide a service people want. The free market will decide.

It has worked quite well in several European countries. Therefore, I think it could work quite well in American cities which are dense enough that they are similar to Europe. However, in America, even in urban areas the density is often lower that what would readily accommodate biking everywhere. For places like this, companies like Zip Car, which offer car sharing of small efficient cars, public transportation, and individual "green" car ownership is a more likely solution.
But good for Chicago, I knew they were awesome!

I think car sharing is probably a better idea for the US. Plus I find something kind of gross about riding a bike that countless other people have been riding...think I'll just keep my own - they're not expensive.

I think their should be a national week called rent a bike where people who haven't got one rent one for the week and use nothing but that and walking and people who have one in the garage use there own bikes. I think its a great idea.

Cities also have to become more "bike-friendly". When you can transport yourself faster (and safe) with a bike (or mass transits) than in your own car, that's when this will become a real hit.

I think they tried this in Sweeden or some other European country-- and the bikes were STOLEN !! -- what a laugh.
Are the bikes welded together and manufactured and painted with oil based products ? And what about the tires ? are they rubber tires. ?

Bicycles are not going to help the USA save the world when the climate dramatically cools the middle of this century.
