Many people use bikes that are the wrong size and don't even know it. For your height, I would recommend a 48 cm to 50 cm frame depending the length of your legs. I have friends that exact same height and they went from a larger to a 48 and are now very happy. You can go to any bike shop and try their XS or S (if they don't have all the numbered sizes) and get an idea, then ask the size of their XS and it will be around a 48.
If you are still growing you may take that into account and buy a little larger more toward a 50. Most bike mfrs don't make anything smaller than a 50 for adult bikes so research several on the internet and go for one that has smaller sizes. Good Luck!

I would take the advice on this board seriously, but I would also go to a good bike and get a professional measurement. Sizing is crucial, particularly for taller or shorter riders. With road bikes, it is often more about bike length than it is about height. For example, I can fit over any bike up to 56cm. However, I need a 54cm top tube to be comfortable. I therefore generally need a 53 or 54.
I would say that an average built rider at 5'4 should ride a 48-50cm frame. That is a real estimate, but you should fall somewhere in there. Go test ride a few and see what feels best.

I'm 5' 8" and ride a 52cm Cannondale so you should be likely smaller. All bike don't measure exactly the same so you have to check the fit. With sloping top tubes and xs,s,m,l,xl sizing too it not that simple. You should be able to stand over the top tube flat footed with a little clearance too.
Like already said, if your a teen and growing take that into consideration. I too see ill fit bikes people ride and all are too big, I've never seen anyone with a too small bike (except kids). If you see people riding a road bike with the saddle low is it can go - the bike is too big.

you have purely 2 alternatives and following some calculations the two on the information superhighway or no longer isn't one in all them. in case you're specific she could like a bicycle and prefer to marvel her, pass to a incredible community bike keep and get a cutting-edge certificates. Then she will pass to the bike keep and be outfitted precise. If this is not any longer mandatory to marvel her, take her to a bike keep so as that they are in a position to greater healthful her proper then. bike installation isn't some thing which could fairly be finished long distance or devoid of certainly getting on a bike.

a 50 or 52 cm frame should work, but the best thing to do is go to your local bike shop and get fitted to be sure
