Take him out regularly and he will learn to ask to go out. I know many people that put a bell at the door the dog will be using to go in and out and the dog learns to ring the bell to let you know he has to go outside.

If he is truely house trained you shouldnt have nay problems..I mean you may have an accident or two jsut due to stress & a new environment but all in all when you show him where is gets to go out at & how to get there he should fall right in step w the new procedures....we just moved the 24th of last month & my pug has only pooped in the house one time & that was when we first got there to take stuff over there ...no furniture, we werent living there yet so she in no way associated the new house w home or in any way new where to go to let me know she needed to potty...BEST OF LUCK♥

You don't say what age your dog is, but if he's an adult and he really IS trained, he should be OK for 5 hours alone.

Might want to keep him confined to a specific area while you aren't home, at least until you're sure he's comfortable in his new home.

In my opinion, going outside when theres access isnt necissarily houstrained. It just means the dog prefers to go outside. Houstrained means the dog can hold it all day. If he's really housetrained he should be fine, maybe you should try confining him one day before you move to see if it's going to be a problems and you can work on it before you leave.

We bought a good size plastic bin, something like a cat llitter box. Filled the bottom with cat litter and bought a piece of sod from HOme Depot and taught him to go potty there. Worked good.

Your new place has an outside right? then take your dog when he/she has to go. once house trained always house trained worst case you may have to re-enforce it at first.

So you take him outside when he asks to go.. If he is truly housetrained, he should stay that way unless you never take him out.
