Dude, you signed the contract but you dont sign the real one til you are sworn in at MEPS. You need to see your recruiter...quick.
Sounds like your'e chickening out to me!

As for the drug test, YES you will get a BAC (yes, blood alcohol content) test at MEPS, and you will have to do another drug test.
Usually they get results back after you start MCRD and if you are positive and they catch it, they will yank out of recruit training and possibly send you home.

If you are doing drugs now, you had better go see the recruiter, you could be setting yourself up for a nice black eye with the Corps. USMC policy is NO tolerance. Some don't get caught, even in the fleet. But if they do, it is usually ugly.

Plus...you get anything other than an "Honorable Discharge", you can kiss that G I Bill money goodbye, as well as any VA benefits you may have thought you rated, including possibly a few other things that would make life miserable for you later.

As far as going reserves...not beef with reservists, just my opinion.
Why go through the same hell of boot camp as Active Duty to go play Marine one weekend a month and two weeks a year?
You want feel and live the whole experience of being a Marine...do it 24 hours a day 7 days a week...Active Duty.

Some prefer the weekend warrior stuff but I wouldn't trade my 11 years Active Duty for a 20 year reserve pension.

Good luck mate they have a contract you signed, The only thing you can do is plead with your recruiter.

There would be no new testing or anything the Marines are the Marines same boot camp for reservist or active duty.

you will take a drug test when you go to meps for bootcamp and if you fail they can nulify your current contract and make you an open contract and put you in any MOS they choose so i would stop if you are doing them

Dude...the best thing you can do at this point is STOP DOING DRUGS. Do your tour in the marines. Some of the greatest people I know are ex-military, including me. :)

Face your fears. Nobody is braver than you. They just ACT braver.
